Introduction to Duck Hunters 2

Duck Hunters 2 is a casino slot from Nolimit City, following up on the studio's first attempt at utilising the powerful position multiplier formula. Since the release of Pragmatic Play's legendary Sugar Rush in 2022, nearly every studio has tagged along, trying to deliver their own version of the successful math model. That includes giants like ELK Studios with its Oxygen series, and the creative marvels from Print Studios with Phantom Pulse. Nolimit gave in at the beginning of 2025 with Duck Hunters, applying its edgy humour to the theme, boosting the multiplier values to x8,192 per position, and throwing some of its trademarked features into the mix. Believe it or not, the sequel turns up the dial even higher, blowing the multipliers up to a mind-boggling x16,384 per spot and expanding the selection of bonus game upgrades, as well as Feature Buy options, to deliver the most unhinged duck hunt yet. With a higher max win of 40,000x and a rich offering of various instant triggers, it should be a wild ride for regular players and high-rolling thrill-seekers alike.

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

Duck Hunters 2 is a video slot from Nolimit City with 5 reels, 6 rows, and a scatter-pays win evaluation, requiring 8+ matching symbols to land anywhere on the board. The available stake range starts from a Min.bet of 0.20 and goes up to a Max.bet of 100. Behind the reels, a default RTP of 96.00% runs the game's engine, which is on the lower end of the industry average. A couple of lower variants of 94.05% and 92.01% were also released, so make sure to check the version before playing. More valuable wins can be fewer apart when there's a hit, as the math profile comes with a high volatility rating, while the maximum win you can land within a single game round is 40,000x the bet. The top prize is achievable with an average frequency of 1 in ~88.5M spins. Free spins trigger at an average rate of 1 in 230 spins, whereas wins exceeding 100x the bet occur with a frequency of 1 in 984 spins. The base hit rate sits at 17.68%.

Duck Hunters 2 swaps the casual backyard environment for a slightly darker, more intense area deep in the woods, where the next shooting skirmish is about to go down. In such a densely overgrown spot, camouflage and bait can be more effective than a direct assault; hence, the family of rednecks comes well-prepared, donning elaborate disguises and sneaky weaponry. Ducks won't be easy prey, though, so prepare for some explosive confrontations on the reels, especially during the bonus game, where fires engulf the woods, creating a deadly inferno all around. The game's aesthetic side follows the style of its predecessor, offering hand-drawn imagery in mostly desaturated colours, which nicely fits the intense, outdoor action. You can join the woodland warfare on any modern device, as the game adapts seamlessly to all PCs, smartphones, and tablets.

Symbols in the paytable award wins when you match at least 8 identical instances anywhere on the grid. The payout hierarchy is represented by two groups, of which low-paying icons appear as a slingshot, a walking egg, a can of meat, and a pistol, awarding from 1x to 1.75x the bet for hitting a set of 12 or more on the grid. High-paying symbols are depicted by a duck with a gun and five hunting party members. These images offer prizes ranging from 2x to 6x the bet when you land at least 12 identical instances anywhere in view. Alongside the regular line-up, there are also Wilds in the form of a barbed-wire sign and Bonus symbols represented by a yellow sign with a flame icon. Additionally, reels also hold xWays symbols in the form of a green tile with the feature's logo and Bombs depicted by a Molotov cocktail

Cascading & Multipliers

Each winning combination is removed from the grid and leaves behind x2 multipliers in each position it occurred on. Any successive wins scored in those spots double the multiplier up to a maximum of x16,384. Random multipliers can be awarded in random positions at the beginning of every spin.

xWays & Infectious xWays

Every xWays symbol present on the grid during the feature activation transforms into the same paying symbol and increases its position by 2, 4, or 8 times. Infectious xWays will also affect symbols matching the one revealed anywhere else on the grid.

Bomb

Once all cascading is finished, the Bomb triggers and removes itself, plus all symbols above it on the reel. The Bomb's position multiplier increases by x2, the next one above by x4, the next by x8, and so on.

Bonus Games

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Bonus symbols anywhere on the grid within the same main game round triggers 7 Duck Hunt Spins, 8 Hawk Eye Spins, or 10 Big Game Spins, respectively. Each mode begins with a selection of upgrades (1, 2, or 3) and keeps all generated position multipliers persistent throughout the feature. The following upgrades are available.

Upgraded xWays = all xWays symbols are replaced by Infectious xWays.

Upgraded Bomb = Bombs remove all symbols above and below them.

Extra +2 Shots = the Extra +1 Shot symbol awards 2 extra spins instead of 1.

+2 Upgrades = an additional 2 upgrades are awarded for the Duck Hunt Spins.

Extra Multipliers = awards 5 additional multipliers in random positions on the first spin of Duck Hunt Spins.

+1 Spin = awards an extra spin at the beginning of the bonus.

Extra Spin

The feature can trigger automatically at the end of a round, offering the possibility to play another spin with position multipliers kept from the previous spin. Alternatively, you can choose to halve the multipliers at a reduced cost. The price depends on the conditions of the last round and can only be triggered if it doesn't exceed the total win.

Final Thoughts on Duck Hunters 2

When position multipliers are the game's driving force, it's only logical to expect that aspect to be emphasised in a sequel. Pragmatic Play has done it with the Sugar Rush 1000 remake, which boosted the values from x128 to x1,024 per spot. While that may have been an impressive figure in 2024 when the game debuted, it was soon greatly surpassed by the original Duck Hunters, which swooped in with an x8,192 cap. Many players probably considered that already a massively elusive number, but it seems that wasn't the limit for the legendary black-and-yellow team. Duck Hunters 2 doubles the potential of each individual cell on the grid, elevating the ceiling to x16,384. It was already hard to imagine hitting at least one 8k multiplier before, so a 16k one, let alone several of them, should feel nothing short of a miracle. And it probably is, looking at the frequency of hitting the max win. Still, on paper, that's an exceptionally attractive figure to aim for, and it will undoubtedly become the game's primary selling point. Surprisingly, with such an impactful jump in the value of spot multipliers, the max win has only grown from 30,000x to 40,000x.

Looking at the remaining arrangement of features, there aren't too many changes that would influence the experience compared to the first instalment, unless you're a fan of elaborate Feature Buy triggers. xWays, Infectious xWays, and Bombs still make up the arsenal of special symbols, transforming and removing regular icons while increasing multipliers in affected positions. Free multipliers added at the beginning of the spin end up being a tease on most occasions, although they effectively mitigate the negative feeling of dead spins during the bonus round. Bonus Games still come equipped with progressively more upgrades the higher the tier. Enhancements remain the same for the most part, although the range has been expanded by an extra spin or five extra multipliers added at the beginning, or two additional upgrades granted for the Duck Hunt Spins mode. The latter give the most basic bonus variant slightly more edge, which should be a welcome sight for players who engage mostly in regular gameplay. A bunch of new options appear in the Feature Buy menus, including the studio's new Side Hustle mechanics, more choices to start base spins with higher multipliers, halved xTra bets, and two alternative bonus modes with upgraded Bombs or xWays symbols. All these extras and changes are clearly favour players with deeper wallets, although that doesn't mean a regular lucky spin cannot suddenly explode with a flock of enormous multipliers.

Duck Hunters 2 consistently follows the original format while blowing up the multiplier values to new heights and equipping the game with a stupefying number of additional gaming options.
