Introduction to King Pots Lots Panda

King Pots Lots Panda is a casino slot from Foxium that takes us to a nice little corner of Asia, where a royal panda is more than happy to share his wealth. The setting is very much in the Chinese style, with a vibrant, colourful oriental theme, and the game features a coin-collecting mechanic we’ve seen before in a number of the Foxium titles. In the main game, you’re focused on collecting Bronze, Silver and Gold Coins, which are linked to bonus games. There's also a Collect feature with multipliers and a range of special bonus symbols to keep you on your toes. So why not grab a cup of tea, find a nice spot and see if this little panda can turn a few coins into a rather bigger pot.

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

King Pots Lots Panda is a video slot from Foxium with 3 reels, 3 rows, and 5 paylines. The Min.bet is 0.1, while the Max.bet reaches 250. It comes with an RTP of 96.17%, medium volatility, and a hit frequency of 32.07%. The max win is set at 1,000x the bet, which is fairly modest compared to some of the monster payouts found in modern slots.

The reels are set within a red and gold building under a traditional purple roof. A rather cheery panda in a golden crown and a red suit is perched above all of it, and directly beneath him are three pots. They are the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Coin pots, although the pots themselves are blue, red, and green. In the distance are some green trees and a few pagodas on the top of spiky mountains. Wins are made by landing 3 of the same type of symbols across one of the 5 paylines, and the game is playable on mobile phones, tablets, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols in King Pots Lots Panda are Bamboo, Dumplings, and Tea Pots. They award between 0.4x and 1x the bet for a winning combination. The higher-paying symbols are Ornaments, Lamps, and Hats, which offer considerably better rewards of between 1.6x and 8x the bet. The special Wild Symbol takes the form of the friendly panda himself and can substitute for all the regular symbols to help complete winning combinations. There are also several special Coin and Collect symbols, which play a much bigger role in the game's bonus mechanics.

Wild Symbols

The Wild Symbols are the crowned panda and can stand in for any of the regular symbols to help complete a winning combination. They cannot replace the Coin or Collect symbols. Wilds can also create their own winning combinations when they land in the correct payline positions.

Collect Feature

The Collect feature can be triggered directly in the base game. If a Collect symbol lands on reel 3, it will collect the value of all the Coin symbols currently on the reels. The symbol can also come with a multiplier (2x to 5x) which is applied to the total collected value.

There's another way to trigger a collection opportunity. If Coin symbols of any colour appear on reel 1 or reel 2 without a Collect symbol landing on reel 3, the Collect Respin is triggered. You get one more go at collecting those coins rather than just watching them all disappear.

Coin Symbols

The Coin Symbols are available in three variants (Bronze, Silver and Gold). They can land on reels 1 and 2 in the base game, and all three reels in the bonus games. Each coin has its own prize range, with the more valuable metals naturally offering the biggest rewards:

  • Bronze Coins pay out between 0.2x and 5x the bet.
  • Silver Coins award between 6x and 15x the bet.
  • Gold Coins award between 20x and 50x the bet.

The different colours are key, as each coin type is linked to its own pot and bonus game. A Bronze coin goes towards the Bronze bonus, a Silver coin to the Silver bonus and a Gold coin to the Gold bonus.

Bonus Games

King Pots Lots Panda comes with three separate bonus games (Bronze Bonus, Silver Bonus and Gold Bonus). Each one is linked to its respective Coin Symbol, and the bonus game that gets triggered is dependent upon the type of coin you've collected. Every coin that is collected gets added to the relevant pot above the reels. There is a chance of the associated bonus game being triggered each time this occurs.

Each bonus game starts off with 3 spins, and all Coin symbols that land during the feature stay in place. Each time a bonus symbol appears, the spin counter resets back to its original value. The feature ends when all the spins have been used or when every position on the grid is full.

The three bonus games all operate on the same basic principles, just each one uses a different type of coin. Obviously, the Gold Bonus has access to the most valuable coins, and the Bronze Bonus to the less valuable ones.

Bonus Game Symbols

There are four types of symbols that can appear during the bonus games: Coin Symbols, Immediate Multiplier symbols, Extra Spin symbols and Bonus Collect symbols. Each one serves a different function, and some of them can make a massive difference to your final payout.

The Immediate Multiplier is an instant multiplier of between 2x and 5x which is applied to the value of all the Coin symbols currently on the grid. It can only appear when there are already coins on the reels, so it won't turn an empty bonus into a winner by itself. It will simply multiply the value of the coins that are already on the grid.

The Extra Spin symbol increases the reset value of the spin by 1. You can collect a maximum of 5 extra spins, which means your spins would reset to 8 every time you land a symbol.

The Bonus Symbol may be the most interesting of them all. It can only appear on reel 2, and when it lands, it collects all the coins currently visible on the reels. However, it doesn't simply disappear after doing its job. Instead, it moves down one row with each spin, continuing to collect any coin it encounters along the way. Once it reaches the bottom row, it disappears and transfers its accumulated value to the total win counter. Only one Bonus Collect symbol can be present at a time.

The Extra Spin and Bonus Collect symbols can appear even when there are no coins on the reels. The Immediate Multiplier and Extra Spin symbols are both removed prior to the next bonus spin.

Final Thoughts on King Pots Lots Panda

You can’t complain about the cuteness of the furry panda in King Pots Lots Panda, but we’re not overwhelmed by the features and mechanics. Actually, even the panda theme is quite common in the slot world, although not as popular as fishing trips and ancient Egypt.

It’s a pretty basic slot with just 3 reels and 3 rows, which makes it very easy to follow the paylines. The main event, the Bonus Game, can be triggered by one of the three coins Bronze, Silver, and Gold). A nice touch is that the more valuable the coin, the bigger the chances of scoring big wins in the bonus game. We also appreciate the Immediate Multiplier and Extra Spin symbols that put some extra spark to the bonus game.

Fans of Foxium will recognize the feature from games such as Baozang the Legend of 3 Coins and Rome: Fight For Gold Deluxe. However, an exception is that both those games are played on five reels, while this game looks like it has shrunk in the wash.

Although you’re limited to a small grid, there are some cool features that lighten up the day. The Collect Feature scope in cash prizes as soon as you land a Collect Symbol, and the Collect Respin feature sets off as soon as you’ve got coins on the first two reels but no Collect Symbol on the last.

Foxium has released several games with max wins around 20,000x and 25,000x the bet, so we’ve got to say that the 1,000x max win in this release is rather disappointing. The RTP of 96.17% is about average.

King Pots Lots Panda from Foxium is a rather charming coin-collecting slot on a small grid that borrows some successful ideas from previous releases on bigger grids.
