Introduction to Midas Hype House

Midas Hype House is a casino slot from Fantasma Games that takes you to the number one party place in Greek mythology. While many may know Midas from the legend that he could turn anything into gold with a touch, he was actually a real king of Phrygia over two thousand years ago, in what is now Turkey. But we can’t deny that the Greek myth is what really made him famous, at least in modern-day history, and he’s even found himself in a few slot games over the years, such as Thunderkick’s Midas Golden Touch series or Blueprint Gaming’s Midas King of Gold. Fantasma Games, however, does its own spin, turning Mount Olympus into Midas’s own party house and inviting a bunch of other mythological characters, with the twist of turning them into animals, such as Midas being a fox or Medusa being a cat. Gameplay-wise, it’s mostly focused on coin-collecting mechanics, but handled a bit differently from your typical Hold & Win bonus game. Starting off, we have to say there are a handful of features with quite a few layers, such as Collect Symbols and their multi-use, being able to collect Coin Symbols, add to the Multiplier Ladder, or even trigger a Respins feature. So while its core features are relatively simple, and so are the wins, there are enough layers and complexity here to keep you engaged.

Fantasma Games delivers on a party-filled Coin Collector game set in Greek mythology, where drinks and wins don’t run out.

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts

Midas Hype House is a video slot from Fantasma Games with 5 Reels, a 4-3-3-3-4 Row Setup, and 432 ways to win. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.1 and a Max.bet of 3,000. Midas Hype House comes with a higher-than-average RTP of 96.5% and medium volatility. However, do take note that the game comes in multiple versions with lower RTPs of 94.5% and 92.5%, and that, at the time of writing, information on the max win has not been published.

Just as the title suggests, Mount Olympus has been turned into the party spot that Zeus wishes he could build. From the pool, to the never-ending stream of wine, and ripe grapes, there’s everything to keep a God, and it perfectly fixes Midas, as he was known for his lavish and luxurious lifestyle, at least for his time. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols are various gemstones in various shapes and colors, including blue, green, pink, purple, red, and orange. Creating a win with 5 of the same symbols will pay out 0.6X to 1X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are various gods and characters from Greek mythology, rendered as animals, including a fuzzy Cyclops, a pug Dionysus, a cat Medusa, a bull Hades, and a fox Midas. Landing a win with 5 of the same symbols pays out 1.4X to 5X the bet. Then we have Special Symbols, which include Wilds, Coins, Jackpots, Collects, Key Scatters, and Multipliers, but more on these in the next section.

Bonus Game

Wild Symbols

Wild Symbols help form winning combinations by being able to substitute for all regular paying symbols.

Coin Collect

Coins, Jackpot Coins, and Collect Symbols can land on the reels, with Coin Symbols coming with a random cash value based on the bet and Jackpot Symbols with predefined prizes, and can only pay out by either landing a Collect Symbol in the base game or by landing them in the bonus game.

Multiplier Ladder

Each time only one Collect Symbol lands and there are no Coin Symbols to collect, it will be added to the Multiplier Ladder, adding +1X, up to 5X. The Multiplier activates the next time you trigger a Coin Payout in the base game, resetting in the process.

Respins

By landing two Collect Symbols on reels 1 and 5, they expand and trigger the Respin feature. The middle reels expand to add two extra rows, and during the Respin, only Coins and Jackpot Symbols can appear.

Bonus Spins

By landing 3 Bonus Key Symbols, you will trigger the Bonus Spins feature, which starts with a 3 Respin counter that resets each time you land a symbol. During the bonus game, only Midas Collect, Multipliers, Jackpots, and Coins can land, which will reset the spin counter. There are also 4 locked rows above the playing grid, which can be unlocked by landing Key Symbols or Coin Symbols.

Key Meter

By landing Bonus Key Symbols in the base game that don’t lead to a bonus game trigger, they will be added to the Key Meter, a progressive Meter underneath the playing grid, which triggers after entering the bonus game. At the start of the bonus game, each filled-out Key Meter will unlock one locked row, allowing you to start the feature with a head start.

Final Thoughts on Midas Hype House

Midas Hype House is a different spin on the typical Greek mythology slot games, and we adore it for its silly twists and vibrant visuals. This is something we often applaud Fantasma Games for, as, while not all of their games are the most unique or interesting, they usually find a way to intrigue us, as seen with games like Banana X or Rich Raptors. Midas Hype House is another one of these games, as we have seen many Midas releases over the years, but many have trouble leaving a lasting impression, which Fantasma Games does with its comedic setting.

When it comes to gameplay, it could maybe be boiled down to be a game only about Coin Collecting, and while it is, it comes with many small layers that make the spins interesting and engaging. The two most important Special Symbols are the Collect and Scatter Key Symbols, and they both are great in the way that even if they can’t trigger their corresponding features, they can still be useful by being added to their respective Progress Meter, be it the Multiplier Ladder or Key Meter. This is a great addition, as it makes non-winning spins feel less bad and makes it something to look forward to next time when a Cash Collect or Bonus Spins feature is triggered. Speaking of bonus games, while simple, both of the Respins are great, with the mini one being a good way to break up the regular spins, and the other being a progressively more volatile bonus game as the rows unlock. While we did enjoy the game, we can’t deny that it feels a bit chaotic, which may leave some players less immersed or engaged, especially starting out. Even so, we think Midas Hype House is a fun slot experience; however, we feel it lacks big and exciting wins, as even the Grand Jackpot is only worth 50X the bet, which was a big surprise to us. But, even so, while it may not be for max win hunters or high-risk, high-reward players, which might be ironic because of the title, it’s a fun time to spin away at.

Midas Hype House is a God-themed release from Fantasma Games with interesting layers surrounding its coin-collecting features, which come in the form of Mini Expanding Respins and a progressively more volatile Bonus Spins feature.
