Interview with Competition Winner Vruchtensapp
Every so often, a forum member goes on a run that grabs everyone’s attention, and this time, that spotlight is on vruchtensapp, one of the winners of our Blackjack: Double Down After Split competition (which features a wonderful new feature from Pragmatic Play we’ve previously discussed).
Hosted between June 17 and June 30, the competition offered players a shot at €1,000 in prizes and €1,500 worth of exclusive merch. With sharp moves and a winning hand at the right time, Vruchtensapp landed among the top and secured their place in the winner’s circle.
We caught up with them for a Q&A, talking wins, game favorites, and what really makes the AboutSlots community worth sticking around for.
Here’s what they had to say about their wins, their experience with AboutSlots, and our growing community.
First off, congratulations! Tell us about your most recent win.
Vruchtensapp: My most recent win was from the Pragmatic monthly giveaway forum, where five random people would get drawn to win a 100$ giftcard.
Have you won any other competitions before this one?
Vruchtensapp: Yes i do love the forum competitions especially where there is merch to win.
Competitions & Format
What do you think about the current competition format on the forum?
Vruchtensapp: I think it's not bad as it is, maybe change the highest x win to less and have more random winners as more people would join.
How’s the overall experience of joining these competitions?
Vruchtensapp: I never really liked competitions, as I never won anything. As I love to play slots, I started thinking, why not join them anyway and get at least a chance to win? As I started to win more often, I started to check the competitions more often to see what kind of competitions there were.
What are your thoughts on AboutSlots now streaming the competition raffles live?
Vruchtensapp: The fact that they stream it live on a wheel and don't just tell us winners feels really good, as it could not be rigged.
And how about the LIVE giveaways during streams?
Vruchtensapp: I believe I won once in the past, and I do like them.
For me, the fact that everybody can join even after watching for 10 minutes feels a bit less, as they only come to win something and not really watch the stream. (The amount of viewers increase a lot)
Community & Platform
What do you think of the AboutSlots community overall?
Vruchtensapp: I like the community and don't see any big changes needed right now.
When AboutSlots came online (like version 2.0?), we had a survey where we could submit some ideas.
I filled in that it would be nice to see community reviews on the casinos (as I've seen some scam sites).
Are there any AboutSlots features you use the most?
Vruchtensapp: Not sure about what features we are talking but i use the forum the most for competitions and bonushunt (also the bonushunt viewer).

What's the most fun thing about watching CasinoDaddy?
Vruchtensapp: I really like the laidback streaming not just streamers shouting for everything of making things big where they aren't. There are many different streamers all which have different personality so for everybody there are more likely to like somebody.
Is there a CasinoDaddy stream you remember most?
Vruchtensapp: Jebuz fireball stream is maybe not the proudest stream but it's the one i will remember the most.
What’s your favorite slot of all time?
Vruchtensapp: I don't really have a favorite slot, but i have a love hate relationship with Sugar Rush 1000.
If you could hijack the CasinoDaddy stream for 10 minutes, what would you do?
Vruchtensapp: Give myself 1 million points, but it would be noticed, so I would choose to give myself VIP and hope nobody notices it.
