Introduction to Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here!

Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here! is a casino slot from Trusty Gaming, returning to the city ruled by a monkey gang under the leadership of a ruthless boss. Not much time has passed since the original Monkey Frenzy slot, released in 2025, but the simians managed to wreak all kinds of havoc on the streets since then, plunging the bustling metropolis into ruin. The back alleys become dirtier, the Big Banana Gang turns more audacious, and the boss sits on an even larger pile of cash than before. The latter is actually good news, as you'll have a chance to free him from this 'burden' of luxury and grab the stash worth 10,000x the bet for yourself during Free Spins with Expanding Wilds and multipliers.

If you prefer to get more familiar with the monkey-ruled city and walk its streets without any risk before jumping in for real, you can try the demo mode available at the top of the page.

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here! is a video slot from Trusty Gaming with 5 reels, 3 rows, and 17 paylines, where you can choose your active stake from a range of options, starting from a Min.bet of 0.2 up to a Max.bet of 100. The game offers a default RTP of 96.29% and one alternative variant of 94.31% available to operators. With the medium volatility rating, you'll experience an even average balance between small but more frequent wins and occasional big payouts. It's possible to win up to 10,000x the bet in a single game round, with a base hit rate of 26%.

The theme in Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here! to a large extent replicates the vibe of the first part. You land in a dirty urban neighbourhood between towering buildings, ready to walk the trash-lined streets ruled by a gang of obnoxious monkeys. They mark their presence and dominion over the area with occasional graffiti and a low-fi hip-hop track sipping from the speakers flanking the grid. Visuals on the reels are pretty much a copy of those present in the previous release, so if that one suited your preferences, you should feel right at home here. The cartoony artwork that follows the series adds a bit of lighthearted aura to the otherwise rough criminal exterior, while the universal design allows the game to be played on all kinds of desktops, smartphones, and tablets.

The standard paytable comprises two sets of distinct symbols that award payouts when at least 3 matching instances land on adjacent reels, beginning from the leftmost one, while covering any of the 17 active paylines. On the lower end of the hierarchy, you'll find objects such as brass knuckles, a car, a speaker, a baseball bat, and a mask, paying from 1x to 2x the bet for matching 5 in a sequence. High-paying symbols come in the form of four monkey gang members, awarding between 10x and 25x the bet for a set spanning all 5 reels. In addition to the regular symbols, you'll also see Wilds appearing as the monkey boss, with payouts of 100x the bet for a complete payline and Scatters represented by a banana in an armchair.

Special Features & Slot Mechanics

What is the max win in the slot Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here!?

You can win up to 10,000x the bet.

What features are available in the slot Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here!?

The features are Gang is Here!, Gang’s Stash Symbol, Meet the Bosses Bonus, and Feature Buy.

Meet the Bosses bonus in progress, showing 2 Expanding Wilds on reels 1 and 3.
Meet the Bosses Bonus

Gang is Here!

The feature is active only in the base game. Any time you hit a win on 2 or more paylines simultaneously with high-paying symbols, the total payout from that spin will be doubled. Wilds count as high-paying symbols in combinations, but a full line of Wilds will not trigger the boost.

Gang's Stash Symbol

Landing the Gang's Stash Symbol triggers a multiplier to the total win from that spin. However, the boost is only awarded when Wild symbols are present on the grid, and its value equals the number of Wilds present.

Meet the Bosses Bonus

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters anywhere on the grid at the same time awards 8, 10, or 12 Free Spins and a payout of 1x, 3x, or 10x the bet, respectively. During the round, any Wild landing in view expands to cover the entire reel and awards a global multiplier to all wins during that spin. Depending on the number of Wilds present, the boost will be bigger. Hitting 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 Expanding Wilds simultaneously grants a multiplier of x2, x3, x4, x5, or x10. Scoring a set of 3 or more Scatters during the game adds 8 additional spins.

Feature Buy

If you prefer to take some shortcuts when traversing the back alleys of the monkey city, the game has some Bonus Buy options for you to try out.

3x = Bonushunt Featurespins, with a 5-times higher chance to trigger the bonus round.

100x = Meet the Bosses Bonus with 8, 10, or 12 Free Spins.

Final Thoughts on Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here!

When a small studio with barely five games behind its belt releases a sequel to one of them, we can't help but wonder if it is a result of a lack of creativity, chasing deadlines, or an exceptionally good performance of the original. In the case of established providers with an extensive portfolio, it's usually the latter, but we would have trouble believing that a game like Monkey Frenzy gathered so many fans that a sequel would be due. Whatever the reason, it's here, and it's massively underwhelming. The audiovisual side alone shows a complete absence of effort to apply even the tiniest improvements or move the storyline forward, not that it was too deep to begin with. An identical grid setup populated with the same symbols on a marginally different backdrop is all we get in this follow-up. This one definitely takes the cake in the ranking of lazy remakes.

When the visuals remain mostly unchanged, you would at least expect that the team redirected its manpower to charging the game with more exciting mechanics, right? Prepare for another disappointment if that's what you were hoping for. The changes that occurred in this sequel feel somewhat arbitrary and insignificant. In the base game, you can get a measly x2 multiplier applied to your total win, triggered by fulfilling an awkward condition of scoring a high-symbol win on 2 or more paylines at the same time. Then, you can also land a Gang's Stash symbol on reel 5 to multiply your total win by the value equal to the number of Wilds on the grid, so it might just as well end up being worthless if no monkey boss symbols are present. Lastly, the Expanding Wilds during Free Spins, which were also the main attraction in the first part, gained the ability to multiply wins, depending on how numerous they are on the grid. That's about it. A few multipliers thrown here and there on top of an almost identical theme, and someone felt like it is a worthy continuation of a rather unimpressive slot in the first place.

Monkey Frenzy 2: Boss is Here! makes almost no effort to be a meaningful sequel, reusing most of the art of its predecessor and applying mundane tweaks to the features.
