SciPlay Corporation acquired Koukoi Games Oy, a Finland software developer and mobile games operator. The Koukoi team will take care of a new casual game, considering that SciPlay's goal is to expand in the casual genre and to diversify their revenue strategy so as to obtain long-term growth and shareholder value.

Koukoi is located in Oulu, Finland, and is composed by a talented and diverse team that developed the hit title Om Nom Run, a game for mobile that has over 30 million downloads. Koukoi's casual mobile games are created with their proprietary technology platform and real-time multiplayer engines. Together with Koukoi's platform, SciPlay's "engine" will help SciPlay's to further expand in the casual gaming genre.

This is the third acquisition achieved by SciPlay, which acquired Spice Rack and its popular game Bingo Showdown™ in 2017, tripling its games revenue. Furthermore, last year the company acquired Come2Play, which is responsible for Solitaire Pets™ Adventure. The same model will be established to bring Koukoi into the existing portfolio.

The Koukoi Finland office joins existing SciPlay offices, such as Cedar Falls, Iowa, Austin, Texas, Tel Aviv, Israel, and Kiev, Ukraine. The transaction was completed on July 2, 2021, and financial details of the transaction are not being disclosed.
