Pragmatic Play donates €18000 to autism charities

The game provider Pragmatic Play has donated €18000 to two autism charities in an attempt to acknowledge the World Autism Awareness Month. The contributions from the company help build new facilities and create opportunities for daily activities.

April is the World Autism Awareness Month when organizations all over the globe are working extra hard to inform and educate about the disorder that is caused by differences in the brain. People with autism often have problems interacting and communicating, and they may also have different ways of learning and paying attention.

Pragmatic Play has donated money to the charity Autism Voice in Romania. The organization, which started in 2008 to assist families with autistic children, has two therapy centers and is working on opening a research center named the Autism Voice Institute. The center will be located in Bucharest and will also offer therapy programs, counseling, and other services apart from the research. The donation from Pragmatic Play will contribute to the center’s opening later this year.

As April was World Autism Awareness Month, it gave us a perfect chance to work with charities close to our hearts and make a tangible difference.”

The other organization that receives donations from Pragmatic Play is the Autism Parents Association in Malta. The charity works with gaming consoles, board games, and other interactive products in a youth project called Social Integration Programme for Teens (SIPT). The Autism Parents Association is launching fun activities focusing on social interaction, behaviour, and lifestyle.

Julian Jarvis says: “It has been a great experience working with both the Autism Parents Association and Autism Voice, and we look forward to being able to support them going forward.”

The work of the involved charities has contributed to many positive things. Some of them are improved mental health and increased interaction among people with autism and their close ones. The goal is of course also to spread general awareness about autism.
