Introduction to True Grit Redemption 2

True Grit Redemption 2 is a casino slot from Nolimit City and the next chapter of the grim story of revenge set in the ruthless Wild West. After endless trudging through the wintry landscapes to execute her vengeance in True Grit Redemption, the Grit Girl takes on a new identity and becomes Redemption Girl. Her name may have changed, but the mission remains the same - hunt down every last reminder of her morbid past and put it away forever, six feet under. In this sombre sequel to a feature-packed Western release, you will once more experience gameplay fueled by the studio's trademarked mechanics, such as xSplit, xBomb, and xWays. With cascading mechanics raging on an irregular 6-reel grid and a global multiplier charged in a variety of ways, it's shaping up to be another intense tale to remember.

Find out if the girl tormented by her past finds her redemption worth 34,000x the bet, or watch her harrowing journey from a safe distance in the risk-free demo mode at the top of the page.

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

True Grit Redemption 2 is a video slot from Nolimit City with 6 reels and the initial 2-3-4-4-3-2 row setup that may grow to 4-4-4-4-4-4. There are up to 4,096 ways to win available. The available stake range starts from a Min.bet of 0.20  and goes up to a Max.bet of 100. Behind the reels, a default RTP of 96.07% runs the game's engine, being on the lower end of the industry average. A couple of lower variants of 94.04% and 92.03% were also released, so make sure to check the version before playing. More valuable wins can be fewer apart when there's a hit, as the math profile comes with a high (extreme) volatility rating, while the maximum win you can land within a single game round is 34,000x the bet. The top prize is achievable with an average frequency of 1 in ~21M spins. Free spins trigger at an average rate of 1 in 246 spins, whereas wins exceeding 100x the bet occur with a frequency of 1 in 799 spins. The base hit frequency sits at 22.81%.

Just like its predecessor, True Grit Redemption 2 embraces the atmosphere of a lawless frontier town by mixing realism and graphic-novel stylisation. The winter season once more emphasises the struggle and fight for survival, which is further deepened by harsh, grounded visual direction. Cracked wood, rusted metal, hanging ropes, and muddy textures paint the unforgiving world shaped by violence and omnipresent danger. The entire colour palette remains deliberately muted to give the scene even more of a depressing vibe, with the occasional brighter bursts coming from the rewards and feature triggers. It's another highly atmospheric, dramatic image that captures the brutal mood of the American frontier. The design is also fully responsive, allowing the game to seamlessly adapt to all desktops, smartphones, and tablets.

Symbols in the paytable award wins when you match at least 3 on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one. Two groups of symbols form the payout hierarchy, of which the low-paying one contains playing card ranks from 9 to A, awarding from 0.2x to 0.3x the bet for a 6-of-a-kind hit. High-paying symbols are depicted by six outlaws. These images offer prizes ranging from 0.5x to 1x the bet when you combine 6 instances on a winning way. Alongside the regular line-up, there are also Wilds in the form of a letter W on a diamond shape and Bonus symbols appearing as a locked gate. There is also a selection of special symbols, such as xWild, xSplit, xWays, Rat, Rat King, and Redemption Girl, whose detailed descriptions you'll find below.

Cascading

Thanks to the cascading mechanism, you'll have an opportunity to score multiple consecutive wins within a single game round. Every initial combination disappears from the grid, causing the remaining symbols to drop and new ones to populate the board. This can potentially lead to successive hits, thus extending the sequence until no new combinations can be formed.

Reel Area & Enhancer Row

Every base game spin begins with 6 positions locked, 3 in each bottom corner of the panel. Additionally, an Enhancer Row containing 4 positions sits above the reels. Each round, it's populated by a random selection of special symbols, which activate their features once they drop to the main area as a result of cascading.

xBomb = explodes and removes all adjacent symbols except Wild, Reckoning Girl and Bonus. Each explosion increases the win multiplier by 1 and removes any blockers caught within the radius.

xSplit = removes blockers and splits all symbols on its row, doubling their multiplier.

xWays = reveals a random paying symbol with a multiplier that matches the global multiplier value. Then, it adds a multiplier of x2 x3, or x4 to itself. All xWays symbols always reveal matching outcomes.

Toxic xWays = acts like xWays, but adds a multiplier of x2 to itself and all instances of the revealed symbol on the grid.

Infectious xWays = acts like xWays, but doubles that multiplier of the revealed symbol and all its instances on the grid.

Rat = lands with a multiplier between x1 and x5.

Rat King = lands with a multiplier of x15, x20, or x25. If 4 or more Rat or Rat King symbols appear at the same time, they are removed, and their collective value is added to the global multiplier. Both symbols can be affected by xSplit, which doubles their multipliers.

Hunter = adds a multiplier of x50 to itself, all symbols on the grid, and to the global multiplier. It does not affect Redemption Girl, Rat, and Bonus symbols.

xWild feature triggered on reels 2 and 4, covering them entirely with Wild symbols.
xWild

xWild

xWild converts all symbols on the reel it landed on to Wilds while keeping their existing multipliers. It does not affect Reckoning Girl, Rat, and Bonus symbols.

Redemption Girl

Redemption Girl is a Wild symbol which gathers multipliers from all other symbols on the same reel (except Rats) and adds them to itself. If it participates in a win, its multiplier is added to the global multiplier for the next cascade.

Bonus Games

Accumulating 3, 4, or 5 Bonus symbols in view at the end of a base game spin triggers the respective Bonus Game. Each following variant offers all the mechanics of its predecessor.

Reckoning Spins (3 Bonus symbols) = 7 free spins with the global multiplier and unlocked positions being persistent between spins.

Vengeance Spins (4 Bonus symbols) = 10 free spins, making the locked positions on reels 5 and 6 open at the beginning of the round.

Redemption Spins (5 Bonus symbols) = 10 free spins, making all locked positions open at the beginning of the round.

xTra

The feature can trigger automatically at the end of a bonus round, offering the possibility to play another spin with the global multiplier and open positions kept from the previous spin. The price of the xTra spin depends on the conditions of the last round and can only be triggered if it doesn't exceed the current total win.

Nolimit Booster

To enhance your base game spins, you can use several options available in the Nolimit Booster menu.

1.5x = Bonus Booster, guaranteeing a Bonus symbol at the bottom position of reel 2.

7.5x = Gritty Spins, awarding a multiplier of x5 on the global multiplier and all symbols except Redemption Girl, Rat, and Bonus.

30x = Grittier Spins, awarding a multiplier of x20 on the global multiplier and all symbols except Redemption Girl, Rat, and Bonus.

1,869x = Grittiest Spins, awarding a multiplier of x500 on the global multiplier and all symbols except Redemption Girl, Rat, and Bonus.

Feature Buy (Nolimit Bonus)

If you want to skip the base game grind, you also have the possibility of triggering any of the bonus rounds instantly through the Nolimit Bonus function.

66x = Reckoning Spins.

239x = Vengeance Spins.

669x = Redemption Spins.

260x = Lucky Draw with a 25%/50%/25% split.

Final Thoughts on True Grit Redemption 2

Before Tombstone R.I.P. became the most gruesome and violent Western release in Nolimit's portfolio, the title was undoubtedly held by True Grit Redemption. Not for long, though, as the two games have been launched within less than a month of each other, making it apparent that they were in production pretty much simultaneously. The Grit Girl's journey was undoubtedly overshadowed by the shockwaves of controversy rippling from the images of hanging the outlaws, but it was an exceptionally solid production, nevertheless. Gritty visuals combined with an atmospheric soundtrack did a splendid job of conveying the harsh reality of the outlaw-ruled realms. The sequel comes wrapped in an even more sombre mood, carried by grounded, washed-out graphics and a slow, foreboding tune played on an acoustic guitar. Gone is even the trace of the arcade feel coming from the coloured, contrasting backgrounds of symbols. Harsh, lonesome, and hopeless is the Steep Hill trading post of 1869, as the black-and-white photo shows when you keep the game idle for a while.

While the theme may not offer as much as a glimmer of positivity, the gameplay surely does with its 34,000x max win. The figure does not aspire to the rank of the most jaw-dropping caps we've seen from the studio, but it's attractive nonetheless. The road to this lucrative bounty leads through an impressive line-up of features, most of them with the familiar 'X' in their name. It's genuinely an impressive toolkit of mechanics, but what is even more striking is that all of them work toward one goal - increasing the global multiplier, which in turn shares its value with the new symbols entering the grid during cascading. You don't often see such an intricate setup so strongly focused on improving a single element. Furthermore, the method of delivering the special symbols that allow the multiplier to grow is straightforward. All you need is a regular win, and even a small 3-of-a-kind combination will grant you two features on the next drop. Don't root for each trigger to result in a sizeable win, though, as the extreme volatility will quickly temper your expectations. With the entire setup revolving around the global multiplier, it's expected to have it persistent across all the bonus games to capitalise even more on everything that's been happening in the base game. Which is precisely the case here.

True Grit Redemption 2 offers an extensive yet tightly-knit composition of powerful features, all of which work toward increasing the global multiplier and boosting successive cascading wins.
