Introduction to The Racaroon 2

The Racaroon 2 is a casino slot from Playtech that takes us out on another night of bakery raiding. In the original 2025 The Racaroon release, we follow a charming raccoon going out to local pastry shops on a hunt for his favorite sweets, macarons, and now, a year later, it seems like they’ve found a partner in crime while continuing their pastry plunders. While we would like to say that the game’s charm has definitely been turned up a notch, we’re not so sure if we could say the same for its gameplay mechanics. The original The Racaroon was a fun, yet at best, okay slot experience with some personality, with a gameplay loop centered around Cash Prize Symbols, Win Multipliers, and Golden Macaroon Prizes. So, then we get to the sequel, The Racaroon 2, and most things seem to be overall the same, only with a new addition with the 10X Symbol and a handful of mechanical changes, such as tuning down the scaling on Golden Prizes and a very slightly better statline while keeping the max win of 5,000X the bet.

Playtech delivers on a sequel to The Racaroon, and while its setting is a new fancy bakery, the rest of the game may feel a bit too familiar thanks to the small number of changes.

Now set in a new pink pink, alongside a new partner in crime, The Raccaroon 2 brings out new visuals
Base Game

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts

The Racaroon 2 is a video slot from Playtech with 5 Reels, a 3-4-5-4-3 Row setup, and 720 ways to win. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.2 and a Max.bet of 380. The Racaroon 2 comes with a slightly lower-than-average RTP of 95.91%, high volatility, and an okay max win of 5,000X the bet.

As mentioned in the introductions, our charming raccoon seems to be moving up in the world into fancier bakeries, as this pink and lavish shop seems to be fully stocked on macarons. The raccoon still finds itself right in the middle of the playing grid, while the newly added partner in crime stalks around in the background as we spin away. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols are 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A. Creating a win with 5 of the same symbols will pay out 0.2X to 0.3X the bet. The higher-paying items are various items, such as a weighing scale, baking gloves, cooking utensils, and a cookbook. Landing a win with 5 of the same symbols pays out 0.4X to 0.75X the bet. The Special Symbols include Wilds, Cash Prize, 1 Up, X, 10X, and Scatter Symbols, but more on these in the next section.

Bonus Game

Wild Symbols

Wild Symbols help form winning combinations by being able to substitute for all symbols except Cash Prize, Scatter, 1 Up, 10X, and X Symbols. Wilds can only land on reel 3, row 2, also known as the Hot Zone.

Cash Prize Symbols

Cash Prize Symbols come in one of 4 colors with a random Cash Value, which can only be paid out by a Wild Symbol landing in the Hot Zone on the same spin. Landing a Cash Prize will also increase the value of its color corresponding Special Prize, with the pink, purple, and green Cash Prizes increasing their Special Prize value by 0.05X, and the Yellow Cash Prize Symbols increasing their Special Prize value by 0.1X the bet.

Win Multiplier

The Win Multiplier sits in the top-right corner of the game, starting at 1X and can be increased by landing the 1 Up Symbol, up to a maximum of 10X. However, the Win Multiplier stays locked and can only be activated by the X Symbol in the base game. When an X Symbol lands, it will multiply all Cash Prizes in view by the current Win Multiplier. In the base game, there’s also a 10X Symbol, which will multiply all Cash Prizes in view by 10X, regardless of what the current Win Multiplier value sits at.

Racaroon Respins

By landing a Scatter Symbol at the same time as a Wild Symbol, you will be awarded the Racaroon Respins with a 3-spin counter. The Wild Symbol remains locked in the Hot Zone, and only Cash Prize and 1 Up Symbols can land during the bonus game, with any of them being able to reset the spin counter back to 3. Each Cash Prize Symbol that lands will be multiplied by the current Win Multiplier, and filling all positions before you run out of spins will award you the grand prize of 5,000X the bet.

Golden Cake

The Golden Cake feature can be triggered on any spin during the base game when landing a Cash Prize Symbol or at the end of the Racaroon Respins feature. The bonus game allows you to pick boxes until you’ve revealed 3 matching prize symbols to win one of the four Special Prizes, and they are as follows.

Pink Special Prize = Starting value of 7.5X and can increase up to 50X.

Purple Special Prize = Starting value of 20X and can increase up to 100X.

Green Special Prize = Starting value of 100X and can increase up to 250X.

Yellow Special Prize = Starting value of 200X and can increase up to 500X.

When one of the Special Prizes is won, its value is reset to the initial value.

Through the Feature Buy you can choose your own starting Multiplier Value

Final Thoughts on The Racaroon 2

The Racaroon 2 is a bit of a strange release, as its original game wasn’t anything that took the industry by storm, nor did the original really need a sequel, and it was apparently good enough to be reskinned into Big Bad Wolf: High Steaks. However, what most people ask for when it comes to sequels is upgrades or new mechanics to play around with, which we didn’t get much of, meaning that the initial reception to The Racaroon 2 can feel a bit underwhelming, especially if you’re a fan of the prequel. As a sequel, we feel like it’s more or less a nice facelift to an already charming game, as its now a bit more vibrant and shiny, but we’re not so sure if that’s enough to keep us invested.

When it comes to gameplay, there’s very little here that really stands out, especially at a glance, bar the new playing grid setup. The new star of the show is the 10X Symbol, which is a very fun and exciting symbol to hit to boost your wins, but we can’t deny that it can feel quite rare, and this one addition can’t really carry a sequel all by itself. On top of this, while the original was known for having a slightly weaker stat line and not super-exciting wins, its progressive Multipliers and Prizes could be enough for casual players to stick around for a well-deserved win. However, in this sequel, it’s now even harder for the Progressive Prizes to stack up, cutting down the prize increases from 0.1X and 0.25X to 0.05X and 0.1X per symbol. This change comes alongside a cut to the regular paytable, and while the new playing grid and ways to win mechanics may balance this out in the long run, it is still a bit of a disheartening change to see, as it can take even longer before spins feel like they’re worth it. All in all, The Racaroon 2 is, just as we said earlier, a bit of a strange release, as we think some of its changes may look bleak at a glance, but can lead to more potential in the long run, but we’re not so sure if, with these changes, Playtech can keep players engaged for as long.

The Racaroon 2 is a sequel to the charming The Racaroon and delivers on a very familiar gameplay loop centered on all the same features and mechanics.
