Unfortunately, this game cannot provide the same eerie music we hear in the show, which is probably a copywrite issue. The background is instead a more oriental-inspired tune that is more upbeat and light-hearted but still creates a pleasant atmosphere compatible with the theme. 

The TV series Squid Game gained worldwide popularity due to its dark theme, interesting storyline, and twisted challenges. Light & Wonder has done a great job of staying true to the core of the story, and if you have seen the show, you’ll be satisfied by all the references during the spins. The Base Game offers good value if you create a full line win of five higher-paying symbols, which pay up to 60X the bet. We loved the design of the lower-paying symbols, which are the cookies every contestant struggled to make during the show, with some terrifying outcomes. So what about the Bonus Game? There are 3 Bonus Games in this game, all directly connected to the challenges in the TV show. One of these Bonus Games is randomly triggered by landing 3 Scatter Symbols on the reels. All features offer good potential, but our favorite was the Green Light Red Light Bonus. In this nerve-wracking feature, you select 1 to 4 steps to get closer to the end of the playfield to activate the Jackpot without being caught by the doll. Each step awards a reward equal to the risk, and by taking 4 steps, you can be awarded between 4X and 100X the bet, but watch out for the doll! 

This is not the first time we’ve seen Light & Wonder create a slot based on a famous brand, with Monopoly Travel World Tour and Monopoly Money Grab as good examples. We are impressed by this game, and even though we wish the features could be triggered by choice, it still created an immersive experience that captured the essence of the TV show.
