Introduction to Rust World

Rust World is a casino slot from Peter & Sons, where you find yourself in an apocalyptic world where everything is just kinda messed up. If we were to try to describe it, Rust World is as if you mixed together the radioactive wasteland of Muddy Waters and the crazy scrapyard setting of Wild 1, both games that definitely have their charm, even for their not-so-comfy settings. Combining these, you get the weirdness of Rust World, where the weird scrap items and mutated meat go perfectly together with its Sticky Wild Cascade gameplay loop. Right out of the gate, we’re just gonna say that this game isn’t that complicated, as it really is all about the Wild Symbols, and the best part is that you’ll be guaranteed a Sticky Wild at the start of each spin. Each time you make a winning Cluster with a Wild Symbol, its Multipliers will increase, but the interesting part is that they will increase for each symbol part of the Cluster Win. This then goes hand in hand with the Free Spins feature, where each Wild Symbol will become a Sticky Wild, helping you form more Cascades and stack up even higher Multipliers so you can hit the max win of 20,000X the bet.

Take to the scrapyard and start building up your Wild Multipliers through non-stop Cascades. If your interest has been piqued, be sure to check out the Rust World demo.

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

Rust World is a video slot from Peter & Sons with 7 Reels, 7 Rows, and uses Cluster Pay mechanics, needing a minimum of +5 of the same symbols in a cluster to form a win. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.2 and a Max.bet of 50. Rust World comes with an average RTP of 96%, but take note that there are other versions of the game with lower RTPs, sitting at 94% and 91%. The game is played with a hit frequency of 30% and a high volatility, where wins will land slightly more than once every fourth spin, with some rollercoaster wins with high highs and low lows, but you’ll always have a chance of landing the max win of 20,000X the bet.

When you enter the game, you find yourself in an apocalyptic world, right at what seemingly seems to be somewhat of a store, selling various items such as drinks, poisons, swords, skulls, and even a weird pink creature that just can’t stop gnawing at its prison bars. It’s right here in the middle where you’ll find the playing grid, filled with a couple of weird symbols. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols are green clovers, blue spades, pink diamonds, and red hearts. Creating a winning combination with 14+ of the same symbols will pay out 5X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are a fish head, a radio, a piece of meat, and a red shoe. Landing a winning combination with 14+ of the same symbols pays out 10X to 30X the bet. The Special Symbols are the typical Scatter Symbols and Wild Symbols, but we will go more in-depth about these in the next section.

Multiplier Wild Symbols

Wild Symbols help form winning Clusters by being able to substitute for all symbols except Scatter Symbols. Whenever a Wild Symbol lands, it has a 1X on it, which indicates its current Multiplier. This Multiplier, whenever it is part of a win, increases by +1X for each symbol in the winning Cluster. There are standard Wilds and Special Wilds, whereas the latter will also take the Multiplier of other Wilds whenever part of the same winning combination. At the end of a spin, when no more wins can be won, there is also a random chance that a Wild Symbol will explode, removing surrounding symbols and triggering a new Cascade.

Cascades

Whenever a winning cluster is made, the symbols part of the win will disappear from the playing grid, making space for new symbols to fall in from above for possibilities of making new wins. This will continue until no more wins are made, hence ending the current spin. At the start of each spin, a Sticky Wild randomly lands, and it will continue to be on the reels until the end of the current spin, and no more Cascades or wins are made.

Free Spins

By landing 4 or more Scatter Symbols you’ll trigger the Free Spins feature with 7 spins, +2 additional spins for each extra Scatter Symbol. When entering the bonus game, all current Wild Symbols and their Multipliers will carry over from the triggering spin to the Free Spins, and during the Cascades, all Wilds become Sticky and do not reset their Multipliers between spins.

The feature buy comes with multiple options and a ante bet option

There are 3 types of Feature Buy options that allow you to instantly enter the bonus game for a price based on the current bet.

Final Thoughts on Rust World

Rust World is a fun game with a strange, but interesting, theme attached to it, however, it is not one that we haven’t seen before, which is a bit disheartening. We can’t lie and say that we aren’t big Peter & Sons fans, as their unique and distinct graphics and animation style definitely help break up the monotony of the typical slot release, but that isn’t to say that all of their games are perfect. We like Rust World, however, thematically and setting-wise, it just doesn’t really feel different enough from many other apocalyptic-themed releases that Peter & Sons have developed before. Nevertheless, don’t let that take away from the fun vibes that Rust World brings, especially as it looks great, has a casual but fun soundtrack, and some pretty good spins. So with that said, let us move over to the gameplay section so we can discuss it in more detail.

As usual, we start going over the stats, and here we got a pretty average RTP of 96%, a hit frequency of 30%, and a great max win of 20,000X the bet. At first glance, this seems like just another Cascading game with some Multiplier Wilds, and while, yes, to an extent, that is how the game is played. However, Rust World makes it a bit more interesting thanks to its guaranteed Sticky Wild and the way that Multipliers are counted. Most of the time, Multiplier Wilds are increased either each time they’re part of a win or for each Cascade, but here the Multipliers are increased by the amount of symbols that are part of a win. This might sound like nothing all too big, but it actually adds an extra layer to stacking up your Wilds. Then we have the Free Spins bonus game, which is pretty basic and just keeps your Wilds Sticky and keeps the Multipliers persistent, but the neat little thing is that it will also carry over all the current Wilds and Multipliers from the base game when you trigger the feature, allowing you to get a pretty big head start. So, as we said earlier, while the theme isn’t anything new, we do like it, and the same can kinda be said for the gameplay loop, but we would still highly recommend you check out the Rust World demo.

Rust World is a slot all about Cascades and Sticky Wild Multipliers to help you hit the big wins.
