Is it really a new game, though? Some of you might think we’re 2 years late to the party, as Peter & Sons did, in fact, release a game called The Mafiosi in 2021. After some research, we found out that some changes have been made. The maths have been calibrated, and some mechanics have been adjusted. The original game was released through Oryx Gaming’s platform, and when Peter & Sons decided to re-release it on their own, they used that opportunity to improve on it. Let’s check out the results!

The Mafiosi can be played on all common mobile devices and desktops. A winning combination is created by landing 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost reel. 

The lower-paying symbols consist of spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts. A winning combination of 5 with one of these pays 0.4x-0.5x the bet. The higher-paying symbols include cars, jewelry, revolvers, and three different mafiosos. Five-of-a-kind with these pays 1.25x-5x the bet. The Mafiosi Slot Conclusion

As mentioned, we thought we recognized this title when it appeared on our radar. However, we were not too familiar with the gameplay, and we’re happy that we reviewed it.

As always, Peter & Sons has managed to build a delicate frame that doesn’t resemble any previous game (previous release of this game aside) and doesn’t feel like a lame effort. The symbols are sharp and dynamic, and they’ve made them feel alive by constant movement. That alone differentiates Peter & Sons from many providers, and although they’re not necessarily a tier 1 provider, we rank them highly in terms of visuals and graphics.

However, The Mafiosi doesn’t bring much to the table in the matter of mechanics and features. It’s an enjoyable game, but expanding wilds with multipliers is hardly enough to impress a slot player these days. What separates a top-notch game from a good one is just that; innovation, and that’s where The Mafiosi falls a bit flat.
