However, the studio has had a rather interesting run of releases that seem to be capitalizing more on horror and gore, following in the footsteps of other major developers such as Nolimit City, with titles like Sunnydaze Asylum, Sanatorium Secrets, and Hell Butcher. While definitely not on the same level, these Pragmatic Play releases at least give us a new window into the studio, and are usually pretty fun to check out. Out of the aforementioned titles, Harvest Moon Grave Profits was the most entertaining for us, mainly because of its absurd conspiracy theme and gory presentation, which gave it a stronger personality than the others.
When it comes to gameplay, Harvest Moon Grave Profits isn’t the most complex, but it does feel rather balanced with two distinct modes. Starting off with the base game, which has a gameplay loop of converting symbols into Wilds and Multiplier Wilds, works great with the okay paytable and doesn’t feel that rare, making it actually have an impact on quite a few spins. Then there’s the Collect Respins feature, which plays completely differently, and while it may not be new or unique, it’s quite fun, and the many types of Collectors can lead to some pretty volatile wins. However, we do want to point out that the bonus game can be quite slow, as each Collect has to go one by one, which was a personal pet peeve for us. But, even so, Harvest Moon Grave Profits is a fun and interesting release, albeit with some issues, that we think players can click with, and if not for its gameplay, at least for its silly and over-the-top theme.
