Introduction to Duck Hunters Happy Hour

Duck Hunters Happy Hour is a casino slot from Nolimit City, where we are welcomed back to the tradition of some good old bird shooting, but now with the addition of an open bar. Just like its prequel, Duck Hunters, you find yourself in the Southern American backcountry with a range of, well, interesting characters, who definitely have been taken inspiration from the American Reality TV show Duck Dynasty, which follows the family Robertson that just loves to hunt ducks, just like us.

While in the prequel, we grew accustomed to hunting ducks and big Multipliers through nonstop Cascades, now we also have the bar up and running, which, apart from quenching our thirst, also makes for great aiming practice. Nolimit City has encapsulated the perfect way to spend those warm and humid evenings in the South, and that is firing up the grill, popping a few beers, and getting ready for some fun features, and if you’ve played the prequel, then you know what you’re in for. Actually, something worth noting is that Duck Hunters Happy Hour isn’t actually that big of a different game from the first game, as in, we only really see some small changes to a couple of features, but we would argue that these are some pretty good quality-of-life changes that make for even more volatile gameplay to help you hunt down the new max win of 33,333X the bet.

Time to open up your favorite bottle and wait for some unsuspecting ducks and Multipliers to land right in front of your scope. If you want to do a few test runs for yourself, then be sure to check out the Duck Hunters Happy Hour demo.

The playing grid is built into a fence, filled with bottles and surrounded by lawnchairs, grills, and more alcohl

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

Duck Hunters Happy Hour is a video slot from Nolimit City with 6 reels, a 4-5-6-6-5-4 row setup, and uses Scatter Pay mechanics, needing a minimum of +8 or more of the same symbols to form a winning combination. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.2 and a Max.bet of 100. Duck Hunters Happy Hour comes with an average RTP of 96.07%, a hit frequency of 16.66%, and high volatility, where wins may not happen all too often, but when they do, they can chain like crazy, helping you hit the max win of 33,333X the bet. Something to take note of, however, is that the max win probability sits at 1 in 24,300,000 spins, and the Free Spins frequency averages out at 1 in 220 spins.

You find yourself in the backyard again, this time, the fence, where the playing grid is, has been turned into a combination of a bar and a gun range, as evidenced by all the broken, empty bottles. But from here, we get a perfect look at the new playing grid, which, while coming with some familiar faces, works a bit differently as it now comes with a 4-5-6-6-5-4 row setup, instead of the previous 6x5 playing grid. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols are a Bud Light can, a whiskey bottle, a margarita, a nest of eggs, and a drinking duck. Creating a win with 12+ of the same symbols will pay out 1X to 2X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are the blue bandana-wearing man, the yellow bearded man, the pink lady, and the hoodie-wearing duck. Landing a win with +12 of the same symbols pays out 2.5X to 5X the bet. The Special Symbols are Wilds, Scatters, xWays, and Bombs, but more on those later.

Free Spins

Wild Symbols

Wild Symbols help form winning combinations by being able to substitute for all symbols except Scatter Symbols.

Cascading & Multipliers

Cascades trigger each time you hit a winning combination, resulting in the winning symbols being removed from the playing grid, allowing new symbols to fall into place with the possibilities of creating new wins. After a winning combination has been made, each winning symbol leaves behind a 2X Multiplier in its position, and if more subsequent wins happen in the same spot, the Multipliers will double after each hit, up to a maximum of 8,192X.

xWays & Infectious xWays

xWays Symbols can land on any spin, and will transform into a regular paying symbol and increase the position Multiplier by 2, 4, or 8 times. The Infectious xWays works similarly, but will infect all of the other same symbols on the reel area to spread its Multipliers.

Bombs

Bomb Symbols can land on any spin, and will explode, removing all regular paying symbols and doubling all Multipliers that are adjacent to their position. After exploding, Bomb Symbols will reveal a random symbol, either a paying symbol, a Wild Symbol, Infectious xWays, or another bomb. Scatters and Wilds are unaffected by the Bomb explosions.

Duck Hunt Spins

The Duck Hunt Spins bonus game starts with 7 spins after landing 3 Scatter Symbols. During the feature, all Multipliers are persistent between spins, and you can get extra spins by landing the +1 Shot Symbols. Before you start the bonus game, however, you get 1 of 3 Upgrades, and they are as follows:

Upgraded Bombs = Works as a regular Bomb Symbol, but will no longer reveal paying symbols.

Upgraded xWays = Replaces all xWay Symbols with Infectious xWay Symbols.

+2 Shots = Replaces the +1 Shot Symbols by +2 Shot Symbols, awarding +2 extra spins instead of +1.

Hawk Eye Spins

Awarded by landing 4 Scatter Symbols, you start the Hawk Eye Free Spins with 8 spins, and it works the same way as the Duck Hunt Spins, but you are now awarded 2 random upgrades instead.

Big Game Spins

Awarded by landing 5 Scatter Symbols, you start the Big Game Free Spins with 10 spins, and it works the same way as the two previous bonus games, but you start with all 3 Upgrades.

There's a wide range of Feature Buy and Ante Bet options to choose between
Feature Buy

Ante Bet (Nolimit Booster)

There are 4 types of Ante Bet options that you can choose between, for a price based on your current bet.

2X = Activates the Bonus Booster, making each spin 5 times more likely to trigger a Free Spins bonus game, and guarantees at least one Scatter Symbol on the second reel.

10X = Activates the Day 8 Spins, which makes all initial Multiplier values of all positions to be 8X.

90X = Activates the Day 64 Spins, which makes all initial Multiplier values of all positions to be 64X.

3,000X = Activates the Happy Hour Spins, which makes the initial Multiplier value of all positions to be 9X, and the middle two reels are guaranteed to be completely filled with Bomb Symbols on the initial drop.

Extra Spin

After a spin has finished, you may get the option to purchase an additional spin through the Extra Spin bonus. This additional spin will keep the position Multipliers of the previous spin, and the cost of the spin will be calculated based on these Multipliers. However, during the Extra Spin, Scatter Symbols will not land.

Final Thoughts on Duck Hunters Happy Hour

Duck Hunters Happy Hour is a boozing, bird-hunting, shoot-out spectacle that’s incredibly volatile with some real satisfying wins, however, it’s not all too far from its predecessor. If you’ve played the original Duck Hunters, released almost exactly a full year before in 2025, then you probably scrolled through this review and saw that there wasn’t anything that really screamed out as being all too different from the original game, and let us tell you, we had the same reaction. While thematically, now it’s not all about shooting ducks, as the game feels more like a 4th of July celebration with a makeshift bar and a grill running, but the playing grid fence, albeit a new row setup, is still feels very much like the same from a year ago. Back then, we also loved Duck Hunters, even though it was definitely not one of their most original themes they’ve ever released, especially when the year before that, in 2024, we saw the release of Land of the Free, which had an even more over-the-top and bizarre setting, but still with the same American theme. But enough about theming, and let us talk about the gameplay, and the changes, or lack thereof, with this sequel.

Starting with the stats, we do have some minor changes, with an average RTP of 96.07% and a max win of 33,333X the bet, up from the old RTP of 96.05% and max win of 30,000X the bet. Gameplay-wise, you’re basically doing the exact same thing, which is to keep the wins rolling with chain Cascades and stack up the position Multipliers as high as possible, as the sky really is the limit when the max Multiplier is 8,192X. To help with this, you have the true and tested Wild Symbols, the Nolimit City favorite xWays Symbols, and the Bomb Symbols, with the latter actually being one of the few features to get a bit of a change with this sequel. The Bomb Symbols now will leave behind them a random symbol, ranging from a paying symbol, a Wild Symbol, an Infectious xWays Symbol, or another Bomb, all of which can definitely help you in stacking up Multipliers and continue the win streak. Then we have the 3 different Free Spins features, which really are just 3 of the same Free Spins feature, just with additional spins and more upgrades, and the Upgrades are almost the same here, except for the changes to the Bomb Symbol, but we would argue that all 3 of them are pretty solid on their own.

With all of that said, that’s really it for Duck Hunters Happy Hour, and we do want to say that we really liked this game, as we did with its prequel, but this feels more like a quality-of-life upgrade than its own sequel, which is a bit disappointing, as if we had to choose, we would probably play this version. We say that because we wanted to see some more changes to a sequel of a successful game, and this almost feels just like a reskin, as when you’re playing, you can’t really feel the minor differences between the games. All in all, this is a very fun game that we really liked playing, and if you want to try it out for yourself, then be sure to check out the Duck Hunters Happy Hour demo.

Duck Hunters Happy Hour is a slot that is a sequel to our favorite Duck Hunting slot game, but now with a couple more beers and wins to cash in on.
