Amazing Builder Nutcracker looks like it's straight out of a Christmas toy shop. The decorations are quite pleasant, although the graphics are very simple, and the three nutcracker soldiers look perfectly set up to go to war if anyone so much as thinks of stealing the last gingerbread biscuit. The game itself, though, doesn't really give us any incentive to stay and play again.
The star of the show is the Amazing Builder, with the frames progressively upgrading until they become Gold. There's a real sense of achievement in watching the board build up, and the additional spins and the various Builder special variations provide a couple of different elements to the game. There's also a Pick Feature, which gives you another chance at the jackpots. The mechanics don't really do much to surprise you, though, and it can get quite repetitive after you've seen the same sequence of upgrades a number of times.
The main issue is that the game is just so very familiar with mechanics that SpinPlay has recycled several times. This game is a so-called reskin of Amazing Builder Gryphon, which is a reskin of Amazing Builder Dragons. The titles have the same mechanics, stats, and features. The only difference is that the dragons and griffins have been replaced with Christmas decorations. We'd have liked to have seen something more inventive than yet another iteration of a formula that's been used before. The Christmas theme is just a seasonal veneer; the game underneath is nothing much to write home about.
