While the Prometheus release is a bit different, Amazing Builder Gryphon is actually a reskin of Amazing Builder Dragons, coming with the same stats and features, just with a new theme and graphics. Final Thoughts on Amazing Builder Gryphon
Having a quick glance at SpinPlay Games’ portfolio, you can really see how much they love their titular features, and while we have checked out quite a few of them over the years, they are, for the most part, not all that interesting or unique. While Amazing Builder Gryphon has a neat idea behind its theme, its visuals aren’t enough to intrigue us, and the fact that it’s a reskin of a prequel doesn’t really pull us in. However, in a vacuum, we do think the game definitely has a place in the market, just that it’s more targeted towards an old-school, or even land-based, gaming audience.
Gameplay-wise, Amazing Builder Gryphon reminds us of the Huff N’ Puff series with its focus on frame-building bonus games for prizes, however, at a lesser scale with less interesting bonuses. On top of this, the bonus game also draws inspiration from 3-Pot mechanics, which is somewhat of a trend, meaning that there needs to be some sort of innovation or uniqueness to really stand out, but SpinPlay Games couldn’t even do that with Amazing Builder Dragon, leaving us even more confused over the decision to reskin it in the first place. But, just like many other 3-Pot mechanics, we can’t deny the volatile potential that the bonus game can have when all modifiers come together. But, even so, if we wanted volatility, we would probably prefer the Jackpot Pick’em feature for its straightforwardness and exciting Multipliers.
Amazing Builder Gryphon is a reskin of its predecessor, Amazing Builder Dragon, a 3-Pot mechanic release all about building frames for Cash Prizes and Jackpots, but in a rather bland and boring package.
