Q&A - Piggy Smash by Gaming Corps

In this exclusive interview with Connor Blinman, Head of Games at Gaming Corps, we learn more about the upcoming release of their new game, Piggy Smash. Introducing their new Smash4Cash mechanic, it will offer a new experience for players with a unique structure. Hello, and thank you for participating in this interview for your release of the game Piggy Smash.

1. Describe Piggy Smash in three words! 

- Smash 4 Cash!

2. Could you share the story behind the idea to create Piggy Smash? How did the concept emerge, and what motivated you to develop a game centered around smashing piggy banks for prizes?

- As with most products, the game mechanics come first and are at the center of the early discussions. We had this idea that the player could smash items and be rewarded with prizes. When this first came to mind, we had lots of ideas and themes that could be associated with smashing objects. Piggy Banks, in particular, are something that most people are familiar with, a bit of nostalgia, combined with the unknown that comes with smashing a Piggy Bank open to reveal how much you have inside. It seemed like the perfect pairing for our first venture in this genre.

3. Piggy Smash is described as an exciting new game. How do you ensure that the excitement and anticipation are maintained throughout the gameplay experience? Are there any special features or surprises that players can look forward to?

- Definitely, so this is something that we want to ensure is true across all of our products, and it's something that is hard to describe and very much comes from testing, tweaking, and testing again. This process is repeated numerous times throughout development and we ensure that the game is being played by as many members of the team from as many different backgrounds as possible to ensure that each tester is feeling excited as they play it. 

The player is kept on the edge of their seat as each Piggy has a chance to not only reveal a fixed prize but instead can reveal a feature, whether that is the Multiplier, Rampage, or Jackpot feature. The player can even get a combined Multiplier Rampage feature where they will witness some big win potential! 

To briefly describe each feature. For the Multiplier feature, the player will get a guaranteed Smash and a prize on the next hit that becomes multiplied by up to X10. For the Rampage feature, we can refer to them like "free spins" in a slot game - the player will be guaranteed anywhere between 2 and 10 free smashes that will be guaranteed to award instant prizes. Multiplier Rampage combines the free smashes with a Multiplier! And finally, the Jackpot feature where the player can win one of 4 Jackpot prizes, Mini, Minor, Major, and Mega, where the Mega prize awards 1000x total bet. 

4. Are there any specific player demographics or markets that you believe Piggy Smash will particularly appeal to?

- We believe that the game will appeal to a wide audience, from the casual gambler who wants a game to play in short bursts to the hardcore high-roller who is chasing those big jackpot wins. As the game is a new type that doesn't have much data, it is hard to see which markets it will do well in, but as it is more of an "arcade" style of game, we can see it being popular in LATAM and Africa where arcade games are thriving. The theme we chose was something that is popular across Europe, so we are ensuring that players in these markets will have something to enjoy, too.

‍5. With the introduction of Smash4Cash as a new game type, do you have any plans to integrate it with video slots?

- Never say never! But on a serious note, we always have conversations about how we can integrate the latest "arcade-style" mechanic into a slot game. We are one of a handful of developers who make content across genres, and we are excited to bring new ideas to players. With Smash4Cash, we could see how a feature like the Multiplier Rampage could play out as a slot bonus game, or similar.
