Introduction to Big Bad Wolf Live

Big Bad Wolf Live is a live game from Playtech where we meet the menacing animal once again. Quickspin works under the Playtech umbrella, continuing their collaboration, this time with a Live Game. We’ve previously seen the wolf in video slot releases from Quickspin, such as Big Bad Wolf Megaways and Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel. Here, we are presented with a hybrid format mixing slot play with the Big Wheel mechanic during the Bonus Game. We’ve seen this format in popular games such as Crazy Pachinko by Evolution, where you start the game with a slot gameplay, and progress to the Bonus Game. But with a modest max win of 700X the bet and a weak RTP of 95.05%, Big Bad Wolf Live doesn’t come close to similar structured high-rated games, making this a below-average release. Let’s find out what Big Bad Wolf Live offers.

Big Bad Wolf Live Information

This Playtech game is designed like a log cabin or perhaps the house the three little piggies built. A game host and an animated wolf stand on each side of the Bonus Game, guiding you throughout the spins. This game provides a farm-life vibe filled with references to the famous fable The Three Little Pigs. You can play Big Bad Wolf Live on all mobile devices, desktops, and notepads.

The Base Game is played on a 5X3 game grid with 25 paylines. A win is created by landing 3 or more of the same symbol type from the leftmost reel, triggering the Tumble feature. You can trigger the Live Bonus Game by hitting 3 Wolf Scatter Symbols anywhere on the reels during the Base Game. Read more about the payout in the next section!

Big Bad Wolf Live Payouts

This game offers a max win of up to 700X and an RTP of 95.05%. The following payouts are possible during the Base Game:

The lower-paying symbols are Q, K, and A. Landing 5 of the same symbol type pays 1X. The higher-paying symbols are pitchfork, axe, brick trowel, blue pig, green pig, and red pig. Landing 5 of the same symbol type pays between 2X and 10X.

The Scatter Symbol is the Wolf Symbol, and landing 3 of this symbol type will trigger the Live Bonus Game. The Wild Symbol has the text “Wild,” and, depending on whether you land 2, 3, 4, or 5, will award a direct payout of 0.2X, 2X, 8X, or 20X, respectively. The Wild Symbol substitutes all symbols except the Scatter Symbol and helps you create winning combinations.

Big Bad Wolf Live Gameplay

The objective of Big Bad Wolf Live is to land 3 Wolf Scatter Symbols during the Base Game and trigger the Live Bonus Game.

Base Game = The Base Game is played like a regular slot game, with a setup of 5 reels, 3 rows, and 25 paylines. You create a win by landing 3 or more of the same symbol type from the leftmost reel, triggering the Tumble feature, which means that winning symbols are moved and replaced, allowing new winning combinations; this will continue as long as new winning combinations are created. The Pigs Turn Wild feature can be triggered during each tumble, transforming pig symbols into Wild Symbols.

Landing 3 Scatter Wolf Symbols will trigger the Live Bonus Game, which you can read more about in the following section!

Big Bad Wolf Live Features

Whenever 3 Scatter Wolf Symbols land during the Base Game, the Live Bonus Game is triggered. The Bonus Game is played in three parts:

Top Up Game = This feature is played first, providing 3 reels, 1 row, and 1 payline. The feature has 3 symbols: Silver Wolf, Gold Wolf, and blanks. Landing 2 or 3 of the Silver Wolf Symbol pays 2X or 5X the bet. Landing 2 or 3 or the Gold Wolf Symbols pays 10X or 50X the bet. The prize awarded in this feature is added to the total win at the end of the Live Bonus Game.

Multiplier Collect Game = You are presented with a 6X6 game grid with 5 awarded spins. The objective is to fill the reels with Multipliers marked with green, red, or blue Pig Symbols. Whenever a symbol lands in view, the respective value is added to the Collector of the same color. The collected values are carried over into the Wolf Wheel Game.

Wolf Wheel Game = This is the main feature played on a 54-position wheel spun by a live dealer. The wheel determines the winning Collector and the Multiplier accordingly. It is divided into 10 red, 17 green, 24 blue, and 3 yellow segments. Landing a red, blue, or green segment determines which Collector from the Multiplier Collect Game will win.

Each red, blue, or green segment is marked with multiplier values of 1X, 2X, or 3X. When a segment is hit, the Collector is multiplied by the correct Multiplier. If the winning segment is yellow, all Collectors are added up with values ranging from 1X to 7X.

Final Thoughts on Big Bad Wolf Live

The Big Bad Wolf has appeared in many fairytales, such as Little Red Riding Hood and The Boy Cried Wolf. Just like previous slot releases in this collaboration between Playtech and Quickspin, you’ll notice this game is based on the fairy tale The Three Little Pigs. Even though the additions to this game series are starting to get repetitive, it should attract fans of the wolf and the piggies. There’s nothing wrong with the design of this game, which follows the same visuals as previous slot games, but it feels like we’ve seen it all before.

In terms of gameplay, this game follows a familiar structure of a slot play + Bonus Game, as seen in games like Crazy Pachinko. However, this game doesn’t come close to payouts or RTP, creating weak win potential. With that said, the Bonus Game is triggered on average 1 in 105 spins, which is a good number and presents a Bonus Game with multipliers and the Wolf Wheel Game.

Overall, this game can attract fans who want to play a Live Game version of the Big Bad Wolf slot releases. But when it comes to max win, RTP, and innovative gameplay, this game is hardly groundbreaking, offering weak numbers and repetitive mechanics. On the positive side, the Bonus Game can often be triggered by average, but due to the weak win potential and unoriginal vibe, this game gets a below-average rating.

Big Bad Wolf Live is a live game with a familiar theme, but due to weak stats and unoriginal gameplay, it doesn’t meet our expectations.
