Introduction to Trevor Hunter
Trevor Hunter is a casino slot from Zerplaay Games that takes us on a treasure hunt deep underground. This is one of the debut releases from Zerplaay Games, working with Hacksaw Gaming through their OpenRGS, takes us through a graveyard adventure, following Trevor. This Shar Pei dog is not afraid of anything and can smell treasure 6 feet deep, which leads us to the final resting place of Purrumpi. With that little tidbit of lore out of the way, this story has been turned into a Progressive Levels game, with each level taking us deeper underground. Gameplay-wise, it starts out as a 3x3 game focused on Cascades with a Global Multiplier that resets on each spin. By level 2, you start getting Free Spins to try and increase the playing grid, which leads to the real bonus game, the Bloody Gems Free Spins, where Multipliers are persistent, and you have even more ways to increase them. Trevor Hunter is a rather simple, but also mechanically interesting game, which is surprising for a first-debut release from a studio, and even comes packing a max win of 15,000X the bet.
Experience a fresh face to the industry with Trevor Hunter, where progressive levels bring us deeper underground, filled with Cascades and Multipliers to help form wins.

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts
Trevor Hunter is a video slot from Zerplaay Games with 3 Reels, 3 / 5 Rows, and up to 125 ways to win. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.1 and a Max.bet of 50. Trevor Hunter comes with a slightly higher-than-average RTP of 96.3%, medium/high volatility, and a great max win of 15,000X the bet.
The game starts at the graveyard, where Trevor has found the tombstone playing grid while avoiding the skeleton dogs prowling the background. As you progress through the game, you will move further and further underground through an elevator until you hit the Bloody Gems Free Spins. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.
The lower-paying symbols are a hat, a lantern, a shovel, and a tombstone. Creating a win with 3 of the same symbols will pay out 0.1X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are a skull, a raven, a crown, and a chalice. Landing a win with 3 of the same symbols pays out 0.3X to 1X the bet. Then we have the Special Symbols, which come in different Wild variants, and a Bloody Gem Scatter Symbol, which we will discuss further in the Feature section.

Wild Symbols
Wild Symbols help form winning combinations by being able to substitute for all paying symbols. However, they come in different forms depending on what level you are in, and they are as follows:
Wild Book Symbol = Only present in the base game, but only the first Wild Symbol of a spin will act as a Wild, with the rest being dead symbols and do not participate in winning combinations. However, they do light the candles above their respective reel.
Wild Silver Key Symbol = Only present in Level 2, also known as The Crypt, and acts as regular wilds, but are destroyed when used. The Silver Key Symbol unlocks the 4th row.
Wild Golden Key Symbol = Only present in Level 2, also known as The Crypt, and acts as regular wilds, but are destroyed when used. The Golden Key Symbol unlocks the 5th row.
Multiplier Cascades
After creating a winning combination, all winning symbols are removed from the playing grid, allowing new symbols to fall in from above and potentially create new wins. For each cascade, the Global Multiplier is increased by +1X, but reset between spins.
Progressive Levels
There are 3 levels to the game, starting with the Base Level, which you can advance through different methods, and they are as follows:
Level 1 = The Base Level, this is the base game, where you need to light up 3 candles to enter Level 2.
Level 2 = The Crypt Level, starts on a 3x3 playing grid with 10 free spins. By landing Key Symbols, you can unlock reels 4 and 5, and if done so within 10 Free Spins, you enter level 3.
Level 3 = The Bloody Gem Bonus Game, is played on a 3x5 playing grid with 10 free spins. Multipliers are Persistent and stay between spins, and by landing the Bloody Gem Scatter Symbols, you can be awarded additional spins, and for each 3rd collected Bloody Gem Scatter Symbol, you double the Global Multiplier.

Feature Buy
Through the Feature Buy options, you can trigger various features and bonuses for a price based on the current bet.
3X = Triggers the BonusHunt FeatureSpins, making each spin 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus game.
100X = Awards the Bloody Gems bonus game with 10 spins.
Final Thoughts on Trevor Hunter
Saying that Trevor Hunter is the first debut release isn’t exactly true, as the studio has tested the waters before with a certain Crash game by the name of Space Fart Jump. There was also another slot game, named Jet Bark, that was released before the partnership with Hacksaw Gaming and, by the time of writing, has been taken down for a planned remake. But with that out of the way, Trevor Hunter follows the same steps as the studio’s previous releases, meaning it features a whole lot of dogs, which we can’t say for sure is the studio’s specialty or niche. But, even so, the game does have an interesting theme and setting, which works well with the progressive levels and underground resting place.
When it comes to gameplay, Zerplaay Games kinda surprised us with a somewhat mechanically engaging game, even though it is rather simple, being bogged down to Cascades and its Global Multiplier. But what really binds it all together are the Progressive Levels, which, while you may not always be hitting the more lucrative Level 3, also known as the Bloody Gems bonus game, you’re still getting a few Free Spins whenever you hit Level 2. It’s a solid gameplay loop that we really enjoy, but feel like its small playing grid, most notably the starting 3x3, and the low paytable aren’t the most exciting. This is, of course, remedied by the Global Multiplier and the row expansion of Level 2, but it can feel rather slow and not very exciting as it builds up to it. All in all, Trevor Hunter is a fun slot experience that we enjoyed more than we thought, but it has its issues with being a bit of a snowball-type game, especially in its Level 3 bonus game.
Trevor Hunter is one of the first slot releases from Zerplaay Games and delivers a fun, grave-robbing theme filled with dogs, Cascades, Progressive Levels, and Multipliers.
