Introduction to Squid Game: Red Light Green Light
Squid Game: Red Light Green Light is a casino slot from Light & Wonder that is based on the famous Netflix series. We expect that most people out there know what Squid Game is, as when it aired its first season in 2021, it became internationally famous, Netflix’s most-watched series of all time, and received a plethora of accolades and awards. Squid Game centers on a secret contest with 456 players who compete in various children’s games, with eliminations leading to death, which is quite an interesting premise. Light & Wonder then wanted a piece of the trendy pie, thus seeing the release of Squid Game - One Lucky Day, Squid Game Gganbu, and now, Squid Game: Red Light Green Light. This game comes with a range of Mini Bonuses from the various colored Piggy Bank Symbols during the Red Light Bonus, ranging from Jackpots, Mystery Prizes, Cash Values, and more. On top of this, we have a Free Spins feature, a Gamble feature, and a pretty interesting Premium Play mechanic that can award the Dalgona Candy Bonus, but more on that one later. These features come together to form a bit of a chaotic gameplay loop of hunting down the Red Light Bonus to trigger the Piggy Bank Symbols for a plethora of prizes, which can help you take home the max win of 5,200X the bet.
Enter the Squid Games and see if you have what it takes in children’s games to cash home the big jackpot wins. If you want to try the game for yourself, be sure to give the Squid Game: Red Light Green Light demo a spin beforehand.

Final Thoughts on Squid Game: Red Light Green Light
While not being the first Squid Game-branded release from Light & Wonder, Squid Game: Red Light Green Light is, funnily enough, named after the first, and pilot, episode of the series. While we’ve enjoyed the previous games, it can’t be denied that we also feel Light & Wonder hasn’t really put all their marbles into developing these games, especially visually, mostly leaning on its brand recognition to get people interested in trying a few spins. Gameplay-wise, the games aren’t the most complex, trying to mix various standard slot features and mechanics with those of the show’s challenges, which we do appreciate and is probably the highlight of these games. However, we’re not so sure if it’s really enough in Squid Game: Red Light Green Light’s case to really say that it was handled well, and we would almost argue that it led to a bit more of a messy gameplay loop than anything. With that said, let us move on to discuss these features.
Starting with the stats, the game comes with a rather average RTP of 96.12% and an okay max win of 5,200X the bet. As the game is more focused on its Mini bonuses, Jackpots, and Cash Prizes, the game’s paytable isn’t exactly its strongest part, and, in our experience, the Wild Symbols aren’t even enough to help offset the rather lacking paylines you might be hitting. Instead, the game is built around its Piggy Bank Symbols, which come in 4 variants, with some way better than others, such as the Blue Piggy Bank. One of our first glaring issues was that, although being the main feature in this game, the Red Light Bonus and Piggy Bank Symbols are just a bit too rare, and some of the Mini Bonuses just feel like worse versions of others, making the entire feature quite a coin flip if it will even feel worth it, depending on what Piggy Bank Symbols lands. Then there is the Free Spins feature, which can help stack up Piggy Bank Symbols thanks to Respins, which can help offset the lacking bonuses if you can land enough symbols. While great on paper, it can still feel a bit lackluster if all you get are low-paying Cash Prizes, which makes it feel volatile and even sometimes rather disappointing. Then, while not exactly part of the main gameplay loop, there are the Gamble and Premium Play mechanics, with the latter being quite interesting as it opens up the possibilities of a new feature, the Dalgona Candy bonus, that can award Cash Multipliers and Free Spins. All in all, we’re gonna sound like a broken clock, but the game ends up as a volatile and chaotic mess with little to do with the show outside of its title and giant doll.
Squid Game: Red Light Green Light is a slot that banks on its brand to help it seem more interesting than what it really is, leaning on Mini Bonuses such as Cash Prizes and Jackpots to form wins.
