Introduction to Pirate Rocket

Pirate Rocket is a casino slot from Backseat Gaming, taking you across the galaxy where you get to live your life as a lawless, planet-jumping pirate. When you enter the game, you find yourself on an unknown planet, where your base of operations is hidden, and it is here you’ll be spinning away at the hastily built wood-and-rope playing grid, filled with cartoony symbols. Backseat Gaming seems to be quite big fans of the pirate theme, as it was only a few months ago that we saw Pirate Bonanza 2, and sadly, this isn’t a prequel, but actually a reskin of the previously released Chocolate Rocket, which was released in early 2025. The game sports the same features and stats as the original, but with a new setting and theme. Talking about features, the game is relatively light, mainly focusing on its Rocket Wild Symbols, which will expand upwards and reveal Multipliers of up to 20X, and the two bonus games are here to improve on the Wild's capabilities, so you can sit back and wait as you plunder and cash in until you hit the max win of 12,500X the bet.

Take a trip to outer space with your crew of outlaws, where every rocket launch is a chance for treasure to be stolen and multiplied. If you want to learn the ways of the intergalactic plunderers, then check out the demo for Pirate Rocket.

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

Pirate Rocket is a video slot from Backseat Gaming with 5 reels, 5 rows, and 19 paylines. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.1 and a Max.bet of 75. Pirate Rocket comes with a slightly better-than-average RTP of 96.37%, and a high volatility, making hits not happen as often, but it has the chance of being even bigger, helping you reach the max win of 12,500X the bet.

Pirate Rocket is set on a mostly deserted planet, where, behind the playing grid, you can see a lookout tower and base, and it’s from here that you plan out all your raids. While the background can be a bit boring to look at, the playing grid does come with vibrant and colorful cartoony symbols to keep the game from becoming too stale. You can play the game on most desktops, notepads, and mobiles.

The lower-paying symbols are different colored gems, ranging from the blue triangle, the green square, the pink diamond, the yellow star, and the red hexagon. Creating a win with 5 of the same symbols will pay out 2X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are a spyglass, a hook, a sword, and a pink drink. Landing a win with 5 of the same symbols pays out 10X to 25X the bet. You’ll also find the Wild Rocket Symbols and Scatter Symbols on the reels, but you’ll learn more about these Special Symbols in the Feature section.

Final Thoughts on Pirate Rocket

Backseat Gaming is still a relatively new studio in the industry, but working underneath Hacksaw Gaming, and their roots clearly show in each of the studio's releases. While Pirate Rocket is an enjoyable slot experience, compared to a few other recent releases from the studio, it can feel lacking, especially in its visual department. As we mentioned earlier, the background can get pretty dull, with the cartoony symbols being the saving grace. Still, even they don’t really feel like they fit in with the setting. But that is at least not the end of the world, because the magical vibes the spins give, paired with the fitting soundtrack, do make the game feel pretty cozy; we’re just not so sure if that was the direction the studio wanted to go with a pirate-themed game. This could be the aftermath of the game being a reskin of a previously candy-themed slot, but I guess that’s only up to speculation. But enough talk of visuals, and let’s move over to talking about what most are interested in, the gameplay.

The game comes with a pretty good RTP of 96.37 and a very solid max win of 12,500X the bet. But even with good stats, the game is pretty light on features, which could be a negative for some players. The game is fully centered around its Wild Rocket Symbols, which will expand upwards and reveal Multipliers. This sounds all good and dandy, and plays well, but then we come to the Bonus Games, which increase the volatility in the game, but at the cost of not adding anything new. While the Bonus Games increase the quantity of Wilds and make them sticky for more consistent wins, there isn’t really a change in gameplay, and you’re spinning the same way as you would in the base game. We had a good time playing, but felt as if the game was a bit too one-dimensional, not really adding any depth, and we wish we saw just something more to help spice up the gameplay and not entirely relying on the Wild Symbols, even if they may help you hit it big every now and then, especially when they start taking over the reels in the Galactic Raid. So if you think you’re cut out for the job as a pirate, then maybe you would be interested in checking out the game’s demo.

Pirate Rocket is a slot with a cozy setting, Expanded Wild Symbols with Multipliers, and two bonus games for you to spin away at.
