It is obvious that this franchise has reached a level of popularity that the studio now focuses on branded releases aimed at a specific market. Even though the design has the special “Le” charm, it lacks the creativity and ambition of previous releases like Le Cowboy.
Looking at the gameplay, it has chosen a different path than other editions of the series. Here, we get a traditional 3x3 game grid, where Coin & Jackpot Symbol can be awarded whenever 3 or more land on the reels. The usual “reveal mechanic” is only found in the two Hold & Win features, offering a scaled-down gaming experience. It might suit those who want a basic version of the Le series, but for us, it can’t match the edge, innovation, and payout power of Smokey’s previous adventures. With that said, it can still offer some decent wins, especially when the Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win is triggered, which starts with a game grid full of Special Symbols, making the modest max win of 2,500X the bet seem believable.
Lastly, this release from Hacksaw Gaming took us by surprise, offering a totally different gaming experience than we’ve seen before from this series. “Sortudo” means “lucky” in Portuguese, and it might bring fortune to those who enjoy a straightforward approach, but with an unusually weak win potential, this game has to be regarded as one of the series’ more modest releases, resulting in an average score.
