Ship Wild

The Ship Wild is the game’s core feature. Every time a winning combination occurs anywhere on the grid, the Ship Wild moves one step closer to the middle position Hot Spot. There’s a lot to like about Kraken’s Cove. First of all, it has a very inviting look to it. We’ve previously said that games like Golden Fish Tank and Sugar Rush became such big hits not only due to their mechanics but also due to how pleasing they are to look at. After all, slots are mostly about watching a screen and waiting for things to happen, so if it’s nice to look at, that goes a long way. Then again, for the game to have any longevity, players must enjoy the mechanics as well.

And enjoy them they will. We did, anyway. The moving ship creates an immersive experience, as each winning combination moves it closer to the middle, even in the base game. It’s quite a neat way to remove the stress of having to land a bonus, as regular spins can pop off as well. It goes both ways, though, as it can be equally frustrating to be 1 step away from the middle and fail to make another connection. The bonus game follows that same pattern. Each spin is exciting, but you’ll also go through a lot of bonuses where you have the possibility to get a 4x4 or 5x5 Ship Wild, but never end up reaching the middle.
