NowNow Gaming invites us down the gold mine for a nostalgic, video-game vibe. This is hardly the first time we’ve hunted for gold nuggets, as we are reminded of games like Jack’s Goldmine and Gold Mine Mistress. The arcade-inspired design isn’t for everyone, and it didn’t appeal to us. Rather than evoking a nostalgic atmosphere, it felt out of place and wasn’t the inviting visual style we usually get from this studio.
Looking at the gameplay, it is based on a familiar formula of Cascading Wins and Wild Multipliers. Whenever a Wild Multiplier lands on the reels with a value ranging from 2X to 100X, it gets collected in a Global Multiplier, which is then applied to the win. While testing the game, we made some decent wins when the Wild Multiplier hit, but without any additional features or anything that stood out compared to similar games, it was hard to get excited.
Overall, this is a straightforward release featuring a familiar Cascading Wins and Multiplier formula. The visuals didn’t do it for us, but some nostalgic video game fans might find them appealing. In terms of gameplay, it feels too recycled and familiar, although the sticky Global Multiplier can still produce some decent wins during the Bonus Game.
