We’re not huge fans of this theme, as we’ve seen similar games so many times before, but the graphical team has done a good job with it nonetheless. 

You can play this game on all common mobile devices and desktops. A winning combination is created by landing 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels within the game’s lines, starting from the leftmost reel.

The lower-paying symbols include cherries, plums, grapes, watermelons, clovers, and bells. A full line of 5 with one of these pays 0.66x-1x the bet. The higher-paying symbols consist of bars, double-bars, triple-bars, and 7s. Five-of-a-kind with these will pay 1.33x-2.66x the bet. Jokers come in different colors: golden, green, and purple. After digging into this game, we can establish that it’s pretty much identical to Kalamba’s previous release, Joker Lanterns: Hit ‘N’ Roll. Automatically, that makes it less interesting from our point of view since we love innovation and new mechanics. However, this doesn’t change the fact that it’s an enjoyable, fast-paced game with quite frequent features.

Our favorite part of this Hit ‘N’ Roll release is the meter that you upgrade. As a slot player, there are not many things more annoying than missing bonus draws, but Kalamba has reduced this moment of irritation by adding a system where the Prizes and Free Spins will get better the longer you go without one. We’ve seen similar mechanics before in games such as Football Finals X UP and Bolt X UP, where average games have become exciting because of it. 

Although we enjoyed Joker Max Hit ‘N’ Roll X-Mas Edition, we would’ve wished that Kalamba had tried to improve on this concept instead of more or less making a re-skin. We also don’t get a lot of Christmas vibes from it, which seems odd for a Christmas game. They’re on the right track, but some upgrades would’ve been appreciated.
