When you start the game, you are welcomed to a small animation of someone waking up and getting ready to rock and roll. This disembodied arm is then your companion for the game, waving and rocking along as you spin away. Wild Jam = Randomly adds 1-8 Wild Symbols to the reels.

Backstage Bonus Game
Can be chosen from the Bonus Pick’em after landing 3 or more Scatter Symbols. During the Backstage feature, you can upgrade the Electric Guitar Meter by landing 5 Scatter Symbols. Each completed level will award you with a new persistent Equalizer feature and +5 spins. The activated Equalizer bonuses will trigger on each spin in the same order, and if all features are unlocked, filling the meter will again award +5 spins.
By triggering the feature with 3, 4, or 5 Scatter Symbols, you will start the bonus game with 8 spins and the Wild Jam feature activated, 10 spins with the Wild Jam bonus active, or 10 spins and the Wild Jam and Twin Riff Split bonuses active. If you land 3 Scatter Symbols on the same spin during the feature, you will be awarded +3 spins.
Solo Mode Bonus Game
Can be chosen from the Bonus Pick’em after landing 3 or more Scatter Symbols. The Solo Mode bonus game is played on a special playing grid, where Battery, Coin, Guitar God Booster, and Expander Symbols move downwards, and you can hit these symbols with the randomly-moving Collector Bar at the bottom of the grid. The Special Symbols are as follows:
Coin Symbols = Coins vary in value and size, each carrying a Multiplier of the bet amount, ranging from Small (1X-5X), Medium (10X-75X), Large (100X-500X), and Epic (1,000X).
Battery Symbols = Batteries come in three different sizes and are what keep the bonus game going and fill the Energy Meter when collected.
Guitar God Booster Symbols = Unleashes a temporary power-up, and while active, high-value coins appear more frequently.
Expander Symbols = Expands the Collector Bar to cover all reels for a limited time.
The feature ends when the Energy Meter reaches 0.
Ante Bet

Final Thoughts on Guitar Quest
To us, Guitar Quest felt like a love letter to heavy metal and rock music, and these aspects shine through in the passionate development of just about every part of the game. While definitely not the most important part in any slot game, we do want to first mention that the music in this game just hits right, and it really helps sell home the heavy metal theming. On top of this, the visuals are great, and even the disembodied hand, while reminding us of Thing from The Addams Family, looks real enough. But, as we mentioned earlier, at first glance, the game may just look like a shiny traditional slot game, especially with the many fruit symbols and rather basic playing grid, but that’s where the features come in and turn everything up to eleven.
For being a game with only 3 real core features, the game doesn’t really feel imbalanced, or as if you’re always spinning just to chase the next bonus game. However, as the one to carry the base game, the Equalizer isn’t an end-all, be-all feature that will flood each spin with bonuses that are there to help an otherwise fine paytable, but we can’t deny that the feature is inherently volatile.
These bonuses are also in the Backstage bonus game, which turns them persistent between spins and leans more into the standard Free Spins formula. However, for those who want to spice it up a bit or want a bit of nostalgia, there is the Guitar Hero-like Solo Mode bonus game. While some may say this bonus game is a bit niche, we thoroughly enjoyed its uniqueness and preferred it because it felt like a breath of fresh air for its gameplay with some nostalgia tacked on, while at the same time holding its own as a gateway to big wins. These two bonus games feel balanced in their gameplay, albeit highly volatile in different ways, but they serve a better purpose, and that is to give players the option for a more traditional bonus game or to try something unique, with both of them still being able to serve the same purpose, and that is to hunt down the max win of 10,000X the bet.
