Final Thoughts on Grug Make Fire
Grug Make Fire is an over-the-top caveman and dinosaur-themed game that blends simple spins with highly volatile bonuses, and at its core is fire, the same power our ancestors used, but in our case, it’s Burning Wilds. Hacksaw Gaming decided to go the extra mile on the not-so-serious theme, designing Grug to look closer to the Hulk than a caveman, and making you think of him as a badass, but also a bit silly, such as when he puts a fish in a chokehold. The theme and visuals are on point, and we have to give credit for that, as we really enjoyed our time seeing Grug on his pyromanic adventure.
When it comes to gameplay, it all boils down to the Burning mechanic, which we have to say, works really well, and helps the paytable, which isn’t exactly the game’s strongest point. While some players might feel like the game might become a bit repetitive, being mostly locked down to spinning for Burning Wilds in the base game and Grug Find Food. We, on the other hand, felt that Burning Wilds’ consistency led to hitting solid paylines, especially with the Burnt Multipliers, which kept us going for more. Then there is the Grug Fight Dino, which we would like to call the epic showdown, as it introduces the Wildfire Progressive Levels and Burnt Reels and is, for us and presumably many players, the game’s high point. We really enjoyed the simplicity and volatility of Grug Make Fire, and while we wish we had seen something more than just extra Wilds in the first bonus game, we feel like the Burning Wilds are great enough in their own sense that having more is no reason for complaints.
