On top of this, with its visuals not being very interesting, as they’re based on the same type of look that slot games had over a decade ago, it’s not exactly a game that feels very compelling unless you’re part of the specific target audience.
When it comes to gameplay, it feels more or less like the same story, as the gameplay loop, while being rather solid, isn’t necessarily bad, just feels like something we’ve played many years prior. We don’t mind old-school releases for a modern audience, but this game feels more like an old-school release for an old-school audience. While we respect the decision, we’re also not sure how successful the game can really be, as the gameplay loop feels a bit too generic and dated. The base game spins aren’t very interesting thanks to the weak paytable and lack of features outside of Expanding Wilds, with the bonus games feeling just a bit too volatile, needing multiple upgrades before seeing real potential in being able to reach the max win of 10,100X the bet. All in all, while not bad, Eye of Horus Megaways Gold Spins only feels like a lazy reskin of a game that we already had mixed feelings over, just now with Megaways mechanics and slightly different stats.
