Introduction to Exiles Fortunes

Exiles Fortunes is a casino slot from GoodTimes Studios that takes us out to sea on the hunt for treasure. This is the second-ever release from GoodTimes Studios, a Hacksaw Gaming OpenRGS partner since their debut in early 2026. They hit the scene as soon as the partnership was announced and released their first game, Avalanche, a Cascade game featuring Multiplier Wild Symbols and a Global Multiplier to help stack wins in a single spin. For their follow-up, GoodTimes Studios delivers on a rather standard theme, that being pirates, and pairing it with all sorts of treasure hunts in the form of 3 types of bonus games, be it the Gold Spin Wheel Free Spins, the Treasure Chase Hold & Win Respins, or the Max Win Wheel Bonus. The latter actually appeared in their first release as well, meaning we might see it a bit more in their future releases. While it isn’t the most common, it is a fun bonus that breaks up the monotony. So board the ship and prepare for treasure hunts in search of the max win of 10,000X the bet.

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts

Exiles Fortunes is a video slot from GoodTimes Studios with 3 Reels, 3 Rows, and 5 Paylines. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.1 and a Max.bet of 100. Exiles Fortunes come with a higher-than-average RTP of 96.31%, high volatility, and a solid max win of 10,000X the bet.

We find ourselves on a pirate ship, welcomed by a rather short captain and his parrot. By day, that being the base game, the seas are calm, but at night, when the bonus game triggers, the ship starts swinging back and forward, and the captain invites us to share a drink. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols are 10, J, Q, K, and A. Creating a win with 3 of the same symbols will pay out 0.1X to 0.5X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are a treasure map, a barrel, a cannon, and the pirate captain. Landing a win with 3 of the same symbols pays out 1X to 6X the bet. We also have quite a few Special Symbols, including WildsMax Win WheelGold Spin Wheel, and Scatter Symbols, but more on these in the next section.

Wild Symbols help create winning combinations by substituting for all regular-paying symbols, but not Special Symbols such as Scatter, Gold Spin Wheel, or Max Win Wheel Symbols.

Max Win Wheel Bonus

The Max Win Wheel Bonus is awarded by landing the Max Win Wheel Symbol on the reels. You’ll be awarded a spin on the wheel, which is split into segments, with one of them having the max win prize, and others with random values ranging from 5X to 1,000X the bet.

Gold Spin Wheel Bonus

Triggered by landing a Gold Spin Wheel Symbol on reel 3, you will be awarded the Free Spins feature with 10 spins. On each spin during the bonus game, a Pirate Wheel will spin beside the reels, containing different Multipliers ranging from 2X to 10X, which will be applied to any win on that spin.

Treasure Chase Hold & Win

By landing 3 Scatter Symbols on the same spin, you will be awarded the Treasure Chase Hold & Win bonus game, which starts with 3 Respins that reset each time a new symbol lands and sticks to the reels. The bonus game comes with 3 different stages, where you level up each time you fill the playing grid with a symbol of the current stage, and their prizes are as follows:

Stage 1 = Wooden Chests can land, containing values ranging from 1X to 9X.

Stage 2 = Wooden Chests can land, containing values ranging from 10X to 75X.

Stage 3 = Wooden Chests can land, containing values ranging from 100X to 1,000X.

Filling the grid in Stage 3 will award you with Captain’s Treasure Multiplier, a random Multiplier value of 2X, 3X, or 5X, which will be awarded to all winnings from Stage 3.

Final Thoughts on Exiles Fortunes

Exiles Fortunes follows in the footsteps of the studio’s first release, offering a rather simple experience, but in a great package. While it’s definitely not on the level of a Fruit Slot, the game’s features are rather straightforward, but with a few layers to try and keep us engaged. Visually, the game doesn’t stand out or feel as memorable as Avalanche, but that might also be because of the common pirate theme, or it’s just missing the creepy, smiling mountain that was present in the first game. But even so, Exiles Fortunes looks good and feels like a proper modern release.

When it comes to gameplay, while there isn’t much to do in the base game, we do have three types of bonus games to toy around with, and they’re all pretty solid. However, because of this, the base game is just plain boring, and having a weak paytable doesn’t exactly help. The Gold Spin Wheel is an easy remedy to this, but even so, many of its Multipliers aren’t big enough to really excite us because of the weak paytable. So, that means the real highlight is the Treasure Chase Hold & Win, as its progressive levels and potential Win Multiplier at the end are a fun, exciting goal to hunt down, and most of its wins, outside of the first stage, are pretty good. However, with the last bonus game, it isn’t that simple, because the Max Win Wheel is repurposed from the studio’s first release, and we’re not sure if this feature is gonna become the studio’s niche or if they were just being lazy. But we wouldn’t be opposed to seeing it in later releases, as it can lead to some pretty big, random wins that would leave a lasting impression. All in all, Exiles Fortunes is a fun release that shows that GoodTimes Studios might just have what it takes to make a name for themselves, even if the game isn’t perfect.
