Introduction to Doctor Dust
Doctor Dust is a casino slot from Bullshark Games with a dystopian theme. Here, a mysterious doctor searches the wasteland for a cure to save what remains of humanity. This release deviates from Bullshark Games’s usual charming vibe, as seen in games like Boombear Bros and Bullshark Brawl. In terms of gameplay, it offers the familiar cluster pays mechanic, Cascading Wins, a Win Collect Meter, and 4 Grid Boosters. While testing this high-volatility game, we enjoyed its dynamic vibe, with the Grid Boosters serving as the game’s main highlight. Even though Doctor Dust feels inspired by Reactoonz, it puts its own spin on the formula, with four Grid Boosters, each capable of changing the game grid and boosting your win potential.

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts
Doctor Dust is a video slot by Bullshark Games that features 5 reels and 5 rows. Due to the cluster pays mechanic, this game has no regular pay lines; wins are created by landing 4 or more of the same symbol type in an adjacent cluster anywhere on the reels. You can select bet sizes ranging from 0.1 to 75, with a default RTP of 96.3%. However, operators can also use 94.26%. This game has high volatility and a hit frequency of 20.6%, offering potential wins of up to 12,000X your bet.
The game’s design is based on a dystopian future, where Doctor Dust hunts for resources to survive. By the look of the doctor, he seems to be doing alright, carrying a mask and equipped with a futuristic weapon. The 5x5 game grid is in the middle of the screen, set inside a grim city. You will find the Win Collect Meter in the right corner, collecting winning symbols and potentially triggering features. If you want to boost the gaming experience for a cost, activate the Feature Buy button. All other buttons, including the Spin and Bet Size, can be found below the reels. You can play Doctor Dust on all mobile devices, desktops, and notepads. You create a winning combination by landing 4 or more of the same symbol types in an adjacent cluster anywhere on the reels, triggering the Cascade.
The lower-paying symbols are J, Q, K, and A. Landing 15+ of the same symbol type pays 20X. The higher-paying symbols are a Molotov cocktail, canned food, a mask, and gasoline. Landing 15+ of the same symbol type pays between 30X and 75X.
The game’s Wild Symbol has the text “Wild” and can only be added to the reels by the Wild Grid Booster. The game doesn’t have a traditional Scatter Symbol; instead, the Bonus Game can be triggered by collecting at least 40 winning symbols during the Base Game. Let’s find out what kind of features this game has to offer.4
Special Features & Slot Mechanics
What is the max win in the slot of Doctor Dust?
The max win is 12,000X the bet.
What features are available in the slot of Doctor Dust?
The features of this slot game are Cascade, Wild Symbol, Win Collect Meter, Grid Boosters, Bonus Game, and Feature Buy.

Cascade
The Cascade feature is activated when a win is created, and the winning symbols will be removed from the reels. New symbols will fall from above and allow new winning combinations; this will continue as long as new winning combinations are created.
Wild Symbol
The Wild Symbol substitutes all paying symbols and helps you create winning combinations. It can only be added to the reels by the Wilds Grid Booster, which you can read more about in the coming section.
Win Collect Meter
All winning symbols during a spin are collected in the Win Collect Meter on the right side of the reels. Fill each segment of 8 symbols to unlock a random Grid Booster. There are 4 Grid Boosters, which require the corresponding segment to be filled. The unlocked Grid Boosters are awarded in random order, with each Grid Booster awarded only once per spin.
When the 5th segment is filled (40 collected symbols) in a single spin, the Bonus Game is triggered. The Win Collect Meter is reset with each new spin in the Base Game. Let’s continue and explore what the different Grid Boosters reward.
Grid Boosters
4 different Grid Boosters can be unlocked by collecting winning symbols:
Clone = Clones one random row to 1 or 2 adjacent rows. Wild Symbol remains in place. Cell Multipliers are also copied to the new rows. If the rew already has a multiplier, their values are added together.
Switch = Randomly selects 1 to 3 rows and transforms every symbol in those rows to match the first symbol of each respective row. Wilds remain as Wild Symbols, and Cell Multiplier stays locked to their position; only the symbols change.
Wilds = Adds 2 to 5 Wild Symbols to random positions on the reels. Wilds can appear as normal or as a Wild Multiplier with values of 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, 10X, 15X, 20X, 25X, 50X, or 100X. Wild Multipliers are applied as Cell Multipliers to the grid position they appear on. If a Wild Multiplier lands on a Cell Multiplier, the values are added together.
Power Line = Removes all symbols from one random row and one random reel, then replaces the empty cells with new random symbols (no Wild Symbols). Any Wild Symbols already in the selected row or reel remain in place.
Each cell in the selected row and reel is then assigned a random Cell Multiplier from 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, 10X, 15X, 20X, 25X, 50X, or 100X. If a cell already has a multiplier, the new multiplier is added to it.
When a Cell Multiplier is part of a winning combination, they are applied to the win. The cell where the selected row and reel meet receives two multipliers; their sum is added. Multipliers are removed after being applied to wins, along with the winning symbols.
Bonus Game
The Bonus Game is triggered by collecting at least 40 winning symbols in the Win Collect Meter, granting the corresponding Bonus Feature.
Surface Search
This Bonus Game can be triggered by collecting at least 40 winning symbols in the Base Game, awarding at least one Free Spin, with all 4 Grid Boosters available.
The Bonus Game retains the base game’s mechanics while adding features. Here, the Bonus Game always begins with a spin that includes all 4 Grid Boosters, which are activated one by one in a random order after the game grid settles.
During the Bonus Game, a collection bar tracks winning symbols across 4 segments, with each segment requiring 8 symbols. The number of Grid Boosters available for the next spin depends on how many winning symbols were collected during the previous spin. Each completed segment awards 1 Grid Booster for the next spin.
Filling at least 1 segment during a spin awards another Free Spin. If no segments are filled, the Bonus Game ends. There is no limit to the number of Free Spins that can be awarded. From the second spin onwards, the winning symbol count resets to 0 at the start of each spin.
Toxic Vault
This Bonus Game can be triggered by collecting at least 72 winning symbols during the Base Game, awarding two guaranteed Free Spins.
Here, we get the same mechanics as the Surface Search. However, the second Free Spin is guaranteed with all 4 Grid Boosters active.
Feature Buy
If you want to take advantage of the Bonus Game immediately, you can use the feature buy option:
2X (Bonushunt Featurespins) = Each spin is 3 times more likely to trigger a Bonus Game. Winning collection starts at 4. Played with very high volatility and an RTP of 96.30%.
50X (Dust Raid Featurespins) = Winning collection starts at 8. Guaranteeing at least one Grid Booster. Played with high volatility and an RTP of 96.32%.
100X = Activates the Surface Search. Played with high volatility and an RTP of 96.31%.
250X = Activates the Toxic Vault. Played with high volatility and an RTP of 96.33%.
Final Thoughts on Doctor Dust
Doctor Dust presents the darker side of Bullshark Games, changing the studio’s usual playful vibe for a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Even though the grim theme isn’t for everyone, we enjoyed the dark backstory of Doctor Dust, creating an experience with lots of personality. It may not be the studio’s most cheerful release, but the darker design suits the gameplay well and enhances the well-produced presentation.
As mentioned in the Introduction, Doctor Dust feels inspired by Reactoonz by Play’n GO, with cluster pays, Cascading Wins, and a Win Collect Meter, creating a familiar gameplay structure. However, it seems like the studio is inspired by in-house games as well, as we are reminded of the gradual feature unlocking in Age of Seth and the Cell Multipliers from the Junkyard series. So what makes this game stand out? We think the Grid Boosters are the game’s main selling point, adding another layer to a familiar formula. Instead of the usual added Wilds, it can actually affect the game grid due to the Switch and Clone Boosters. When several Grid Boosters are activated one after another, the game reaches its peak, combining the lucrative Cell Multipliers with Wilds and large cluster wins.
Overall, Doctor Dust is a solid addition to Bullshark Games’ darker portfolio, appealing to those who enjoy high-volatility cluster-pays slots. We have a soft spot for dystopian designs, and this is right up our alley, offering a mysterious backstory and cool visuals. In terms of gameplay, it is inspired by familiar games, although it adds enough to stand on its own. It should be a strong choice for those who enjoy dark themes and an innovative twist on a familiar formula.
Doctor Dust combines a dark dystopian theme with a familiar gameplay formula, but puts its own spin on it thanks to the innovative Grid Boosters.
