Theme, Gameplay & Payouts
Crownlings Clusters is a video slot from Trusty Gaming with 5 reels, 5 rows, and a cluster-pays win evaluation that requires 5+ matching symbols to land vertically and/or horizontally adjacent. In the bet selection panel, you can choose your active stake from multiple options, starting from a Min.bet of 0.1 up to a Max.bet of 50. The game's default RTP is 96.22%, which is on par with the industry average, but there is also an alternative variant of 94.34% released to operators. Wins should appear slightly more valuable but less frequent on average due to medium-high volatility, while the top prize from a single spin may reach 15,000x the bet. The base hit frequency sits at the rate of 30.86%.
Crownlings Clusters takes place in a city identical to human settlements, so it's not exactly clear if the creatures simply made home on Earth or built their own somewhere else to mimic it. In any case, a common urban environment is where you'll spend most of the time, standing in the middle of a street flanked by rows of modern buildings. Hovering above the pedestrian crossing is the symmetrical playing grid populated by square purple tiles carrying symbols. Next to it, a Crownling in star-shaped sunglasses sways eagerly on top of a yellow taxi. It's undoubtedly an odd view composed of seemingly random elements, but it's clean and responsive at the same time, making the game available across all desktops, smartphones, and tablets.
The paytable comprises two sets of regular symbols, which award payouts whenever you match at least 5 instances horizontally and/or vertically adjacent, forming a cluster. Among the low-paying ones, you'll see card suits: hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades, awarding 25x the bet for a cluster of 13 or more matching units. High-paying symbols consist of a purple, yellow, blue, and green Crownling, which bring payouts of 30x the bet for a set of at least 13 identical instances in a cluster. There's also a selection of special symbols available on the reels, like regular and multiplier Wilds represented by a genie and Scatters in the form of a disco ball.
Special Features & Slot Mechanics
What is the max win in the slot Crownlings Clusters?
You can win up to 15,000x the bet.
What features are available in the slot Crownlings Clusters?
The features are Cascading, Wild & Multiplier Wild Symbol, High Symbol Upgrades, Royal Party Bonus, and Feature Buy.

Cascading
Cascading allows you to score multiple consecutive wins within a single game round. Every initial combination is removed from the grid, causing the remaining symbols to drop and new ones to populate the board. This can potentially lead to more hits, thus extending the sequence until no new combinations can be formed.
Wild & Multiplier Wild Symbol
Regular Wilds substitute for all standard symbols when payouts are evaluated, and they always remain on the grid during cascades. They can also land with multipliers of x2, x3, x4, x5, x10, x25, x50, or x100. Whenever at least two Wilds become part of the same winning cluster, they become Multiplier Wilds. Multiplier Wild disappears along with the first winning cluster it's part of.
High Symbol Upgrades
When high-paying symbols form a winning cluster with at least one Multiplier Wild, they become crowned. Crowned symbols offer doubled payouts compared to the regular ones.
Royal Party Bonus
Gathering 3 Scatters anywhere on the grid at the end of a base game spin triggers the Royal Party Bonus with 10 free spins. Scoring another trio during the round retriggers it with 5 additional spins. Throughout the game, all high symbols are always crowned, and there's a global multiplier that multiplies all wins. It starts at x1 and grows to x2, x3, x5, and x10 with each consecutive cascade within the same spin, although it resets to x1 at the beginning of a new free spin. Regular Wilds do not appear in this mode.
Feature Buy
The game offers a couple of options to speed up the action with enhanced spins and instant bonus triggers.
3x = Bonushunt Featurespins with a 5-times higher chance to trigger the bonus.
100x = guaranteed trigger of the Royal Party bonus with 10 free spins.
Final Thoughts on Crownlings Clusters
Crownlings Clusters is the type of theme that you may struggle to make heads or tails of. If you care to analyse it, that is. Not that every slot has to have a logical, consistent setting dressing the reels and the environment around them, but this one feels particularly all over the place. On the one hand, you get a classic city image in the background, styled like the 70s New York or something of that sort. On the other, a bunch of colourful blobs that seem to be some fictional species. Some of them occupy the reels, one stands on a taxi, and one handles the DJ deck during the bonus round. Oh, and there's a genie as well. How did all that come together? We have no Earthly idea. It feels like the creators spun a few wheels, each with a different set of generic themes and ended up on 'city', 'party' and 'cartoon aliens'. The overall execution is average at most, with utterly plain graphics, very little detail involved in animations, and hardly any excitement delivered by the effects during wins and feature triggers. It's an instantly forgettable setting without even a fraction of character delivered by games like the good-old Reactoonz by Play'n GO or the more recent Chomplings by Print Studios.
The technical setup is much more digestible and coherent, yet quite simple and unoriginal at the same time. All you get to play with are standard clusters with occasional Wilds. The upgrade feature, doubling the payouts from premium symbols, becomes significant only on clusters covering at least 9 positions, where payouts jump from 5x to 15x the bet. Otherwise, you hardly feel it boosting your round, unless you hit numerous cascades. Multipliers on Wilds can also help from time to time, but their one-time assistance is not too frequent, either. The global multiplier during free spins may seem the most impactful, since it's theoretically quite easy to increase it to the maximum of x10, but it also resets on every spin, which is very counterintuitive compared to most slots which keep it persistent between spins and often also unlimited.
Crownlings Clusters offers a strange combination of elements in its bland, forgettable theme, together with a straightforward, unexciting gameplay based on clusters and Wild multipliers.
