Introduction to Christmas Coin
Christmas Coin is a casino slot from PoggiPlay that combines holiday cheer with simple Cash Coin Prizes. As you probably could’ve guessed from the title, this is a seasonal holiday release with a focus on Coin Symbols, and it’s quite clear in its presentation and visuals. If we want to talk at length about the actual theme or setting, there isn’t much to say, as the decorated playing grid sits on a black-and-green backdrop. However, if we want to discuss gameplay, then we’re more than familiar with these features, as this is a reskin of Roman Coin, released half a year prior to Christmas Coin, bringing with it the same features and stats. If you’re not familiar with the gameplay loop, then you should know that this is a game centered on Scatter Coin Symbols and the Multiplier Wild Collect Symbols, where these two Symbols are the core of the game. The bonus game then introduces a Total Win Pot, where the gameplay loop follows the same ideology: hit as many Special Symbols as possible, and maybe even reach the max win of 2,500X the bet.
Join in on the Christmas carols, where features have been packed into two Special Symbols, where wins are all about Cash Prizes and Multipliers. If you want to have a go at the game for yourself, then be sure to give the Christmas Coin demo a try beforehand.

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts
Christmas Coin is a video slot from PoggiPlay with 5 Reels, 3 Rows, and 13 Paylines. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.05 and a Max.bet of 100. Christmas Coin comes with a slightly higher-than-average RTP of 96.4%, medium/high volatility, and a rather low max win of 2,500X the bet.
As we previously said, we find ourselves with a golden, Christmas-decorated playing grid laid on top of a black backdrop with some green highlights. For being a Christmas-themed game, there isn’t much holiday cheer being spread, as, at its core, the game is more like a typical Fruit slot. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.
The lower-paying symbols are snowy fruits that have been turned into Christmas tree decorations, ranging from cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, watermelons, and grapes. Creating a win with 5 of the same symbols will pay out 2X to 10X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are standard casino slots with a snowy layer, including horseshoes, bells, diamonds, and 7s. Landing a win with 5 of the same symbols pays out 15X to 50X the bet. The Special Symbols are then the Scatter Coin Symbols and Multiplier Wild Collector Symbols, but more on those in the next section.

Scatter Coin Symbols
The Scatter Coin Symbols land on the playing grid with a random value ranging from 0.5X to 50X the bet, however doesn’t do anything by themselves. To get the Cash Prize, it needs to land with a Multiplier Symbol, and by landing 5 or more, you can trigger the Free Spins feature.

Final Thoughts on Christmas Coin
Christmas Coin is one of the least holiday cheer-filled Christmas seasonal releases out there, as it doesn’t do much to try to convince us that this is nothing more than a light snow-layered Fruit slot game filled with presents. While the studio originally laid a foundation of 3D slot releases, that idea has been tossed out the window with Christmas Coin, even though the original game, Roman Coin, did.
On the gameplay side, as we said with Roman Coin, we like the idea of combining multiple features into a few symbols, but it didn’t necessarily work out in practice, and it didn’t in Christmas Coin either. Coin and Collector gameplay loops are quite common, but when mixed in as Scatters, Wilds, and Multipliers, it can get a bit hectic, even when the spins are so simple. Payout-wise, we do have a solid paytable, but the playing grid can easily fill with non-paying or missing Special Symbols that don’t contribute to anything, which feels more frustrating than anything. The bonus game is the saving grace, however, as its Coin Total Win Pot can stack up quite fast, and with a single lucky Multiplier Wild, you can be set up for a pretty hefty payout, but even then, the max win is a bit lacking, sitting at only 2,500X the bet. All in all, we feel like this was a seasonal quota that had to be filled, and not a release that PoggiPlay necessarily poured their hearts into, as it’s, down to its core, a reskin.
Christmas Coin is a seasonal reskin of Roman Coins, delivering on the same spins, only now with a lacking theme and visuals, leaving us more disappointed than filled with holiday cheer.
