Introduction to Buffalo Blitz 3
Buffalo Blitz 3 is a casino slot from Playtech that brings us back to a decade-old series. The original Buffalo Blitz debuted in 2016 and, while it may seem a bit outdated by modern standards, it quickly became a favorite among many players. Now, to celebrate its ten-year anniversary, Playtech decided to deliver Buffalo Blitz 3, as it has been a few years since the last proper sequel, Buffalo Blitz 2, in 2020. However, the slot industry landscape has changed quite a bit over this decade, and Buffalo Blitz 3, while definitely having a target audience, plays very differently from its predecessors. The gameplay loop is all about its 3-Pot Bonuses Free Spins feature, which includes bonuses such as a larger playing grid, Multiplier Wilds, Buffalo Orbs, and Buffalo Cash Prizes, and feels more akin to a modern Playtech release than to the series. Join us as we explore the prairie and join the pack in the hunt for the max win of 1,000X the bet.
Playtech delivers on the third proper installment in the decade-old Buffalo Blitz series, with new features and mechanics.

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts
Buffalo Blitz 3 is a video slot from Playtech with 6 Reels, 4 Rows, and up to 14,400 ways to win. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.1 and a Max.bet of 100. Buffalo Blitz 3 comes with a lower-than-average RTP of 95.5%, medium volatility, and a rather low max win of 1,000X the bet.
While the series hasn’t exactly been known for its visuals or presentation, Buffalo Blitz 3 decides to come with a bit of an over-the-top golden coat. Outside of that, we find ourselves among a field in the valley of the prairie, with a great view of the sun setting in the background. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.
The lower-paying symbols are 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A. Creating a win with 6 of the same symbols will pay out 1.2X to 2X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are various animals, including cougars, bears, wolves, eagles, and the titular buffalo. Landing a win with 6 of the same symbols pays out 3X to 6X the bet. The Special Symbols include Wilds, Scatters, Coin Scatters, and different types of Special Buffalo Symbols, but more on these in the next section.
Special Features & Mechanics
What is the max win in the slot Buffalo Blitz 3?
You can win up to 1,000X the bet.
What features are available in the slot Buffalo Blitz 3?
The features are Wild Symbols, Buffalo Free Spins, Ante Bet (Extra Bet), and Feature Buy (Lucky Box).

Wild Symbols
Wild Symbols help form winning combinations by being able to substitute for all symbols except Scatter and Coin Symbols.
Buffalo Free Spins
The Buffalo Free Spins can trigger with 1 to 3 Bonus Pots, and the bonus game can be activated in two different ways. You can start the bonus game either by landing 3-5 Scatter Symbols, which will unlock 1-3 Bonus Pots, or by landing the color corresponding Coin Symbol on the playing grid, which can randomly award the bonus game with the respective bonus. The three different types of Bonus Pots are as follows:
Buffalo Gold = Buffalo Symbols can now land with Orbs attached to them, and for every 5th Orb collected, one type of symbol will be converted into Buffalo Symbols.
Big Grid = Increases the size of the playing grid, creating a row setup of 4-5-6-6-5-4, and adds 2X, 3X, and 5X Multiplier values onto Wild Symbols.
Buffalo Cash = Buffalo Symbols can now land with Cash Values attached, which will be paid out if those Buffalo Symbols are part of a payline.

Ante Bet (Extra Bet)
By turning on the Ante Bet, you increase your chances of activating the Free Spins bonus game, but at the cost of increasing your current bet by 20%.
Feature Buy (Lucky Box)
The Feature Buy option leads you to a choice of 4 different Lucky Box options, each with its own prizes, and each of them costs 50X, 100X, 200X, and 400X, respectively. Lucky Boxes can contain prizes such as Cash Prizes, Free Spins with various Bonus Pots, a minimum Wild Multiplier, Double the number of Free Spins, 2X-5X Win Multipliers, and Super Spins.
Final Thoughts on Buffalo Blitz 3
While we did say that it has been quite a few years since the release of Buffalo Blitz 2, the series didn’t fully stagnate, as Playtech has released plenty of Buffalo Blitz titles over the years with different titular features, as seen with games like Buffalo Blitz Cash Collect. However, these aren’t part of the main line series, but they do seem to have been the foundation for Buffalo Blitz 3, especially in their presentation and visuals, compared to the older installments. That means that if you’re here to finally try out the third release in a decade-old series, then it will feel vastly different from what you might expect, and we do feel like it is a little bit disappointing.
Gameplay-wise, Buffalo Blitz 3 is a rather simple game because most of its content is wrapped up in the Buffalo Free Spins bonus game. However, we do feel the game can be a bit confusing at times with the many ways to trigger the feature. We’re not quite sure why Playtech felt the need for both Scatter Symbols and 3 Pot Coin Symbols to exist when both symbols do their own job perfectly fine, but we digress. When it comes to the actual spins, the base game doesn’t really offer much outside of the typical Wilds, and the bonus game can sometimes feel a bit dependent on which Pot bonus you may have active. On top of this, the actual Pot Bonuses aren’t interesting enough to really keep our attention, as we’ve seen similar bonuses in other games that also deliver on more content outside of their one bonus game. All in all, we think Buffalo Blitz 3 finds itself in a bit of a weird position, as it doesn’t really feel like a proper sequel to its older predecessors, and instead feels like a game made for a target audience of players who love simple 3 Pot Bonuses. But, even so, we do think that the game’s relatively low stat spread also doesn’t do it any favors.
Buffalo Blitz 3 is a sequel to the 2020 release Buffalo Blitz 2, but it doesn’t feel like a proper upgrade to the old series, as its main gameplay loop has been drastically changed in favor of a simple 3 Pot bonus game.
