Introduction to Beanstalk Grows Wild 2

Beanstalk Grows Wild 2 is a casino slot from Trigger Button Studios that takes us back to an old-timey fairy tale. While it may not be that old, as we quite often see releases featuring the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale as its main theme, it has been a few years since Trigger Button Studios’ original Beanstalk Grows Wild was released. We wouldn’t exactly call it a smash hit, but we can’t deny that the studio delivered an okay release that incorporated its silly theme into its features in a fun way. The sequel isn’t all that different, feeling like a proper sequel and a step up from the original, building on the previous features and adding a few new ones. The game still comes with the core Growing Wilds, Multiplier Eggs, and Golden Wilds features, so the gameplay loop is largely the same, but now sprinkled with Big Golden Prizes, Giant Expanding Rows, and Rainbow Wilds to add a bit of extra volatility and increase the chances of hitting bigger wins. So while it isn’t the biggest upgrade, Beanstalk Grows Wild 2 feels like a fun sequel, and even ups the max win to 5,000X the bet to stretch out the potential wins of its new features and mechanics.

Trigger Button Studios delivers a fairy tale sequel with a small yet solid package of upgrades.

The sequel is set high in the clouds, with no end in sight for the large beanstalks

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts

Beanstalk Grows Wild 2 is a video slot from Trigger Button Studios with 5 Reels, 4 to 6 Rows, and 20 to 30 Paylines. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.1 and a Max.bet of 50. Beanstalk Grows Wild 2 comes with an average RTP of 96.04%, a hit frequency of 21.83%, medium volatility, and an okay max win of 5,000X the bet. However, do take note that the game comes in multiple versions with lower RTPs at 94.01%, 92.07%, and 86.08%.

Where the prequel was set on Jack’s little farm, the sequel is already set high up in the clouds on the now fully grown beanstalk, which we see during the bonus game, practically blooms with gold and treasure. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols are 10, J, Q, K, and A. Creating a win with 5 of the same symbols will pay out 2X to 5X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are a chicken, a harp, a sack of coins, a cow, and Jack. Landing a win with 5 of the same symbols pays out 6X to 50X the bet. Then we have the Special Symbols, which include Wilds, Beans, Scatters, and more, which we will go over in the Feature section.

Wild Symbols

Wild Symbols help form winning combinations by being able to substitute for all regular paying symbols.

Growing Wilds

Underneath each reel, there is a closed bean sprout, which can be triggered, either randomly by landing a Bean Pod Symbol, or guaranteed by landing a fully open Bean Pod or Golden Bean Symbol. When triggered, a Growing Wild will appear on the bottom position of the respective reel, growing by one Wild per spin. The feature ends and resets when the entire reel has been taken over by Growing Wilds.

Multiplier Egg

Landing a Goose Symbol will trigger the Multiplier Egg, adding the current Multiplier Value to all wins during the same spin. After this, the Goose Symbol adds +1X to the Multiplier Value, starting at 2X and increasing up to 10X, then resets to 2X. On top of this, randomly, any Goose Symbol can also award the Big Golden Prize, awarding 50X the current bet as an instant cash prize.

Giant Expanding Rows

Giants can appear randomly on any spin, increasing the size of the playing grid by adding 1 or 2 additional rows, which also adds 5 or 10 paylines, respectively. The expanded playing grid will reset back to its normal state after the current spin.

Golden Wilds

Growing Wilds will have a chance to award Golden Wilds, which will be added to a Golden Wilds Counter up to a maximum of 6. This counter will trigger during the bonus game, adding the same number of Wild Symbols onto random positions on the playing grid as there are on the counter. After using the max of 6 Golden Wilds, a Rainbow Wild will appear on the counter, which can add 1-5 Wild Symbols to the playing grid during the Free Spins feature.

Free Spins

By landing 3 Scatter Symbols, you will be awarded the Free Spins feature with 4 spins. During the Free Spins feature, the Golden Wilds feature will be active, and the feature can easily be retriggered, as landing 1 Scatter Symbol will award +1 spin.

There are three types of feature buy options, each delivering on a random amount of Wilds per spin
Feature Buy

Feature Buy

Through the Feature Buy, you can instantly trigger the bonus game for a price based on the current bet.

40X = Awards the Free Spins feature with 4 spins.

100X = Awards the Free Spins feature with 8 spins.

200X = Awards the Free Spins feature with 12 spins.

Triggering the Free Spins feature through the Feature Buy will award 3 to 8 Wilds on random positions.

Final Thoughts on Beanstalk Grows Wild 2

When the original Beanstalk Grows Wild was released in 2024, we thought it was a vibrant and fun enough release, but definitely not anything that blew our mind or tried to invent the wheel, just a slightly solid enough package to be somewhat memorable. Now, when it comes to its sequel, while we think its presentation, such as its less interesting setting on top of the beanstalk, isn’t as fun or compelling, we think its remaining vibrant colors and effects can somewhat balance it out, although we still think the old farm was a bit more charming. On top of this, fairy tale themed releases are rather abundant, and Jack and the Beanstalk, while definitely not the most popular one, does have a handful of well-known releases, especially such as NetEnt’s titular Jack and the Beanstalk series.

Back to Trigger Button Studios, and as we said before, while the original Beanstalk Grows Wild didn’t come with any crazy jackpots or complex mechanics, it did have a fun package of features that many players came to love. That’s probably why the studio wanted to keep the familiar gameplay loop, as at its core, this sequel isn’t all too different. However, its newer additions are more than welcome, but with a caveat, and that is that they feel more like random rewards than an actual engaging mechanic. For example, the Giant Expanding Rows is a randomly triggering bonus at the start of any spin, and the Golden Egg Prize is nothing more than a randomly awarded prize whenever an egg lands. The Rainbow Wilds does feel a bit better in comparison, thanks to its many Wilds it can award, but even then, it feels like another prize that is awarded just for interacting with the same old features that were present in the previous installment. At the end of the day, while we do enjoy Beanstalk Grows Wild 2 and think that many fans of the original may find some fun here, we think that the upgrades could have been split away from the already laid down foundation to make them stand out as their own features and been given a bit more flair.

Beanstalk Grows Wild 2 is a sequel to Trigger Button Studios’ 2024 release, with new bonuses and features baked into the original’s gameplay loop, making the game feel rather familiar but with a new handful of wins to be won.
