Area Link Chilli feels like a meal that looks spicy on the menu but turns out to be mostly bland with a tiny kick that disappears far too quickly. The idea of colorful chillies and fiery action sounds fun at first, but once you actually start spinning, it becomes clear that the heat just isn’t there. The visuals are about as exciting as a screensaver from 2005, with that static orange background doing absolutely nothing to keep your attention. Even the mascot chilli looks like it’s bored of being there.
The bonus game doesn’t help much either. You can actually trigger five different versions of it, or combine those versions in different ways for an even more powerful bonus game.
