Zeus is somewhat of a mascot when it comes to slot games, as, for some reason, Greek mythology became a widely popular theme, and he, of course, had to become the main character. While you could say that it’s because of hits like Gates of Olympus, there’s just something about Gods and being able to craft their powers into various features that just click with players and studios alike. For Infinity Dragon Studios, they used this idea in 2024 with the release of the prequel Zeus Lightning Riches Power Combo, and while it’s no longer in the name, the Power Combo mechanic still lives strong with new bonuses and even more volatile features. The sequel tries to build on the old foundation, keeping the Wild Reels bonus and adding an additional Free Spins bonus upgrade in the form of Wild Boosts. On top of this, the studio’s own Bonus Surge feature also makes an appearance, a progressive base game meter that aims to create an even more explosive bonus game, and this feature is also present in games like Black Sails: Kraken’s Hoard, Oinkin’ Fortunes, and Julian Stone: Fortunes of the Sun God, all of which are games that are very similar to each other, almost bordering on being called reskins.

This setting isn’t all too different from other Zeus-themed releases, even with its stormy background, and it’s something we wish had been changed, as we actually prefer the prequels’ brighter and god-like setting. There are 4 types of colored Scatter Symbols which can randomly trigger the Free Spins feature with 5 spins and their color corresponding Bonus Upgrade any time that they land on the reels, and they are as follows:
Blue Wild Boost = When active, low-paying and high-paying symbols can randomly turn into Wild Symbols.

Final Thoughts on Zeus Lightning Riches 2
The original Zeus Lightning Riches Power Combo was an okay game at best, as, at the time, we saw many Power Combo releases, almost as if it were a trend. However, while the mechanic is still going strong, it usually goes by the name of a 3 Pot mechanic, or something similar. While we welcomed the sequel and enjoyed the small parts it built on, Zeus Lightning Riches 2 is just a bit too similar to Infinity Dragon Studios’ other Bonus Surge releases for us to see past it. Coupled with the fact that visually, the game isn’t very impressive, looking like a game that could have been released years ago, and we’re not exactly feeling compelled to spin away.
When it comes to gameplay, many features of the prequel are still here, such as the Wild Reel and the many Power Combo Bonus Upgrades for the Free Spins feature, and while we think this is a fine enough combination of features, it’s mediocre at best. In the industry, we have a nearly endless stream of 3 Pot mechanics, and while the prequel was fine enough in 2024, the same formula just doesn’t work as well in 2026, as seen with the many other Bonus Surge releases. Speaking of, the Bonus Surge, while a divisive feature, is probably the best feature for those looking for high-risk, high-reward gameplay, thanks to its guaranteed Wins, Multipliers, and max win Jackpots, but sadly, it even fails at that, as it’s not a very fun feature to stack up on during the bonus game. However, Zeus Lightning Riches 2 isn’t the worst game we’ve ever played, it’s just uninnovative and filled with reused ideas and features that don’t interest or excite us.
Zeus Lightning Riches 2 is a sequel to the 2024 Power Combo prequel, but now it follows the studio’s Bonus Surge formula, making it feel more like a recycled game than a proper sequel.
