The Legend of Musashi has a pretty basic setup. We’re looking at a low Japanese wooden house with a green roof. Below the roof sits the reels within a wooden frame, and to the left of them hangs a rice paper lamp, showing the present multiplier during cascading wins. Below the reels are ten animals that will be lit up little by little, one by one, for every scatter symbol that lands. To make a win, you need to land at least 3 of the same symbols on adjacent reels, starting with the first one to the left. Every win makes a cascade, giving the player a chance to make more wins by removing the winning symbols and adding new ones from the top. Mr. Musashi has prepared everything for battle. There are no signs of battle within the game, though, so the Monster Multiplier and Monster Free Spins sound more dangerous than they appear. The Legend of Musashi is, in fact, rather cute with cartoonish square designs. The music is also rather jolly, intensifying the childish feeling. The only thing resembling a fight is when Musashi appears on the screen with his sword after a big win.

Cascading wins work perfectly well here, and the progressive multiplier is a favourite. The Power Mode is another cool feature within the game, but we could have hoped for it to occur more often. You need to collect 65 scatters to be awarded the feature. Speaking of collecting scatters, you’ll need a whopping 650 to trigger the Super Free Spins. That will for sure take you a long time. This way of awarding features works great for players who want predictability, but others are probably looking for something more random, where a rare feature can pop up after just a couple of spins for the lucky one. Once you achieve the Super Free Spins, they’re a great way of entertainment.
