Introduction to The Jack & Rose

The Jack & Rose is a casino slot from Kitsune Studios set in a small bar, where the last round of drinks is on the house. Kitsune Studios is relatively new to the industry but has recently delivered some fun themes. This time around, it is the end of the world, and The Jack & Rose is the last bar open, sharing one last drink with the spirits of the world before they disappear forever. This was a bit of a dramatic first line when we entered the game, but we guess it does set the scene for why there would be 4 elemental spirits inside of a small bar, so we digress. These 4 elemental spirits then become a central part of the gameplay, as they take the role of Expanding Multiplier Wild Symbols on their respective reels. Then we have the bonus games, in the form of two Free Spins features, that alleviate these Spirit Wild Symbols and connect them with their own Spirit Reels, making it just that bit easier to hit wins and maybe even reach the max win of 15,000X the bet.

Kick back and let Jack pour up a beer as you and the spirits spin the reels for a few final hits. If you want to check out the game for yourself, then be sure to check out The Jack & Rose demo beforehand.

Theme, Gameplay, & Payouts

The Jack & Rose is a video slot from Kitsune Studios with 6 Reels, 5 Rows, and 19 Paylines. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.1 and a Max.bet of 50. The Jack & Rose comes with a higher-than-average RTP of 96.36% and medium/high volatility, where wins can go up to the max win of 15,000X the bet.

The gate is set inside a small bar, where drinks and other symbols crowd the playing grid, which is supposed to be the shelf of various liquors and spirits. Next to the playing grid are various beers on tap, and Jack himself, with a big grin on his face and an even bigger beer in hand. You can play the game on most notepads, mobiles, and desktops.

The lower-paying symbols are 10, J, Q, K, and A. Creating a win with 6 of the same symbols will pay out 3X to 10X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are various drinks and cocktails, ranging from a beer, a blue drink, a red cocktail, a glass of whiskey, and a green drink. Landing a win with 6 of the same symbols pays out 15X to 50X the bet. The game also comes with a few Special Symbols, and they are the Scatter Symbols and Expanding Multiplier Wild Symbols.

Expanding Multiplier Wild Symbols

Wild Symbols can help form winning combinations by being able to substitute for all symbols except Scatter Symbols. Wilds come in 4 different colors, and if they land on the same colored reel, they will expand if they can be part of a winning combination. Each colored Wild Symbol also has its own possible Multiplier Values, and they are as follows:

Reel 2 = Blue Sapphire, can have one of the following Multipliers 2X, 3X, or 4X.

Reel 3 = Red Jurgen, can have one of the following Multipliers 5X, 6X, 7X, 8X, or 9X.

Reel 4 = Yellow Johnny, can have one of the following Multipliers 10X, 15X, 20X, or 25X.

Reel 5 = Gren Faye, can have one of the following Multipliers 30X, 40X, 50X, 75X, 100X, or 200X.

Free Spins

You can trigger 2 different variants of the Free Spins feature, depending on the number of Scatter Symbols that trigger the feature.

3 Scatter Symbols = Trigger the It Begins bonus game, coming with an increased chance of landing Wild Multipliers.

4 Scatter Symbols = Triggers the Last Orders bonus game, coming with the same mechanics as the previous bonus game, and Spirit Reels. Landing a Wild Multiplier on its corresponding Wild reel will activate the Spirit Reel. Each time a Wild Symbol, which has the same color as an active Spirit Reel, lands on the reels, it will always expand as long as it is part of a winning combination.

Final Thoughts on The Jack & Rose

Right out of the gate, we have to say that The Jack & Rose is a very strange game, as, even with its background, the theme of elemental spirits going to a somewhat ordinary pub for a last round of beers is quite unheard of, and is definitely a theme we haven’t seen before. However, even with this interesting lorebit, Kitsune Studios sadly doesn’t do much with it, as the game is still set in a regular bar, just now there are 4 differently colored Spirit Symbols that, at best, just feel out of place. We feel that the game could have done something a bit more interesting and mystical with the entire theme, but now it just feels like a weird bar. But we aren’t here to discuss the theme, so let us move over to talk about the gameplay.

Starting with the stats, the game comes with some surprisingly good ones, sitting at an RTP of 96.36% and a max win of 15,000X the bet. As the game basically only comes with 2 different features, 3 if you count the two bonus games as different features, these features have to be strong enough to carry the game on their own shoulders. Starting with the Wild Symbols, which we think work well enough, but have gotten stuffed with so many effects that they feel a bit all over the place. The Free Spins feature does make them appear a bit more often and helps them be a bit more consistent with their Expanding effect through Spirit Reels. This leads to the gameplay relying a bit too much on the Wild Symbols, as they’re the only feature in the base game, and the only way to help the otherwise slightly lacking paytable. We had hoped for a bit more, as Kitsune Studios is definitely a bit of an interesting up-and-coming studio, but The Jack & Rose’s simple gameplay boils down to Wild Symbols, and many “what if” rules can make it a bit of a spin-and-forget type of game.

The Jack & Rose is a slot that takes the help of Elemental Spirits to create Expanding Multiplier Wild Symbols and is set in your local pub.
