While we as a people have now experienced a quite big pandemic scare from just a few years ago, Pragmatic Play decides to lean into an even more serious, and maybe more fictional, pandemic, and here we see what tries to be a zombie apocalypse, before the virus really spreads. Of course, this isn’t a new theme or anything, as monkey-based zombie virus media has existed for decades, seen with movies like Outbreak from 1995, and 28 Days Later, released in 2002, which lines up pretty neatly with the recently released 28 Years Later, which dropped in mid-2025. But even if the theme is quite common, at least we have some okay visuals, right? Well, when it comes to that, all of the game's symbols, especially its high-paying symbols, are made out of AI, which makes them look somewhat Uncanny Valley, especially as they change when you stack up Virus Symbols, which we would’ve liked as a detail if it was done correctly.
Moving over to gameplay, we can start with the stat spread, which isn’t all too bad, as we got an RTP of 96.51%, a hit frequency of 25.38%, and a great max win of 14,000X the bet. While that is nice and all, we sadly don’t have many features to play with to try and reach that max win, as in the base game, there’s only really the Multiplier Wild Symbols, which can only help so far when most symbols don’t really have any big payouts.
