Wild Symbol

The wild symbol is depicted by Murphy in his tall green hat smiling at us, holding a gold coin in his hand. It also has “Wild” written under it. This guy substitutes all other symbols except the scatter symbols.  

Rainbow Feature

Murphy, the leprechaun, puts on his best dance shoes and hops onto a rainbow for us. If you make him dance really well, he can multiply the feature’s win up to 30X. The feature is triggered when 5 Scatter Rainbow Cloud Symbols land on the grid. They land on top of other symbols and vanish into air after landing unless the Rainbow Feature is activated. Before the dancing starts, you’ll get to choose 1 out of 7 clouds from the screen. Behind your cloud is a prize containing either a prize or a multiplier between 2X and 5X. Any prize is put in the pot together with any win from the main game when the feature was triggered. The multiplier is being kept till the end of the second phase of this feature.

The Rainbow Spins kicks in after the Cloud Pick phase. Murphy is placed on top of a rainbow, with a picture of thunder to his left side, and the pot full of golden coins to his right. You will get 7 spins on a wheel containing 3 symbols. Every time the wheel stops at a sun symbol, Murphy takes one step towards the golden pot, and a cash prize is added to the pot. If the wheel ends up on a thundercloud, Murphy is hit by lightning and takes one step towards the left. The third symbol is a boost symbol that takes Murphy straight to the pot. That symbol is only possible to land from the third spin onwards. If you reach the golden pot within your seven steps, the money in it is all yours. If you also obtained a multiplier during the cloud pick, your prizes will be multiplied by that sum before the win is paid out. The game ends after 7 spins, or if Murphy ends up in the thunderstorm to the left. You don’t win anything if Murphy doesn’t make it to the pot within the seven spins. If this feature is activated during the Free Games, the multipliers behind the clouds are worth between 5X and 30X.

Free Games

You’ll be rewarded 10 free spins in this feature, with a higher chance to trigger the rainbow feature than in the base game. To activate this feature, you have to land at least 3 Scatter Pot symbols anywhere on the grid. You can also retrigger the feature, earning 10 more free spins while you’re spinning. On top of that, all your wins containing a Wild symbol double its value.  

Murphy’s Pots Slot Conclusion

This is a cute and still exciting game, where Lightning Box has made a complete story with nice graphics and sound. The animations look good without being something extra, and they don’t take over the game’s feeling. The Rainbow Feature gives a nice touch to the game and provides the player with a chance to take part in the Cloud Pick. During our test spins, the Rainbow Feature activated way more frequently than expected. The feature usually doesn’t pay huge wins, and you can end up with nothing, although we won at least something pretty much every time. If you manage to pick the 5X multiplier, you can actually make pretty decent wins. Those wins can become really big if you activate the Rainbow feature during Free Games when the multiplier can increase up to 30X.

We were lucky to score the Rainbow Feature many times, but we weren’t nearly as successful in chasing the Free Games, which is a pretty nice free spins feature if you manage to activate it. Ten spins are a good start, and the doubling Wild is also helpful. Add that you can retrigger the spins and activate the Rainbow Feature with a 30X multiplier! This game can be played for a long time, and if we didn’t know that it is highly volatile, we would have thought the volatility to be medium. The RTP of 95.08% is acceptable, although it could be higher, and the max win of over 15000X the bet is also sweet.

Murphy’s Pots is a full-on Irish adventure with a dancing leprechaun taking us to his riches at the end of the rainbow.
