While Alice in Wonderland is a pretty normal theme, Peter & Sons leans more towards something like the dark fantasy American McGee version than your typical fairy tale. As is standard, Peter & Son’s is known for its amazing presentation and truly delivers on the creepiness, while also looking visually stunning, from its setting to its expressive characters. We think that the decision to move away from the more cartoony version that we first saw in the original 2024 release helped sell home the more horror-like setting even more, and is a welcome change.
When it comes to gameplay, the core formula isn’t all that different from its predecessor, but it’s been refined with better stats and new features. While we thought Greedy Alice was just a bit too simple, the sequel becomes a little more complex with the addition of Mystery Blocks, which help keep the spins going and add a bit more explosive volatility. However, all in all, the game is still rather simple and not the most original, as we mentioned that the foundation of the gameplay loop comes from the Barbarossa series.
