Introduction to Firework Fusion

Firework Fusion is a casino slot from Slingshot Studios that comes packaged as a full-fledged, chaotic, feature-packed slot experience. If you’re familiar with Slingshot Studios, you have surely come across their Fusion series, which is a series where they take a random theme and pack it full of features, usually the exact same ones just with minor changes to bonuses and stats. These include releases such as the 2024 release Gold Fusion and the 2025 releases Mayan Fusion and Asian Fusion. Firework Fusion is very similar to these releases, coming with the same features, just with a few changes to Jackpots, Bonus Games, Feature Symbols, and more, but it doesn’t try to do enough to really feel like a different game. Visuals-wise, Firework Fusion feels like another random theme pulled out of a hat, giving us a beachside view with some random rockets as our mascot characters. The gameplay loop is mostly the same, spinning away looking for Feature Tab triggers and Bonus Games while on the hunt for the max win of 6,075X the bet.

Kick back and relax with a familiar feature get-up in Fusion fashion, where a bonus or two can trigger on just about every spin. If your interest has been piqued, then be sure to try out the Firework Fusion demo first.

As previously mentioned, we have a fancy beach view from above the hills, right as the sun is about to set, and the vibes are feeling good. Our mascot characters are five very energetic fireworks that sit on the Feature Tabs of the playing grid, ready to pop at any moment. You can play the game on most notepads, desktops, and mobiles.

The lower-paying symbols are 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A. Creating a win with 5 of the same symbols will pay out 1X to 1.6X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are various foods, including pretzels, ice cream cones, donuts, French fries, pizzas, and hamburgers. Landing a win with 5 of the same symbols pays out 2X to 5X the bet. Then there are the Special Symbols, which range from WildsScattersFeature Symbols, and Jackpot Tokens, all of which we will discuss more in the Feature section.

Wild Symbols

Wild Symbols help create winning combinations by being able to substitute for all symbols except Scatter, Feature, and Jackpot Symbols.

Feature Tabs

Over each reel, there are 5 different Feature Tabs, which can either be triggered or upgraded randomly whenever a Feature Symbol lands underneath one of the Tabs. The feature tabs and their upgrades are as follows:

Multiplier Wilds = Awards a Multiplier with a 2X Multiplier. Upgraded maxes out at 10X.

Mini Jackpot = Awards the Mini Jackpot, worth 10X. Each upgrade increases the payout by 0.2X the bet, up to a maximum payout of 30X.

Extra Wilds = Adds 2 Wild Symbols on random positions. Max upgrade adds 10 Wild Symbols.

Minor Jackpot = Awards the minor Jackpot worth 30X. Each upgrade increases the payout by 0.5X the bet, up to a maximum payout of 80X.

Walking Wilds =  Awards 1, 2, or 3 Walking Wilds, starting on reel 5, and will move 1 reel to the left per spin.

Hot Mode

The Hot Mode feature can trigger on any spin in the base game, and while active, there is a higher chance of landing extra Feature Symbols and triggering the Feature Tab prizes. The feature ends after a random number of spins, or when the Walking Wilds feature tab is triggered. While Hot Mode is active, you can’t trigger the Collection Pot or Free Spins features.

Collection Pot Jackpot Wheel

Each time you land a Jackpot Token Symbol, there is a random chance to trigger the Jackpot Wheel feature. When triggered, you get one spin on the wheel, and the Jackpot Prizes are as follows:

Mini Jackpot = Awards 10X to 30X the bet.

Minor Jackpot = Awards 30X to 80X the bet.

Major Jackpot = Awards 250X the bet.

Grand Jackpot = Awards 5,000X the bet.

Feature Upgrade Trail

Whenever you land 1 or 2 Scatter Symbols after a spin, they will contribute to the Upgrade Trail, which will award you Multipliers, ranging from 1.5X to 5X, depending on which Trail Level you’re on when you trigger the Free Spins feature.

Level 1 = Awarded after landing 60 Scatter Symbols. The Free Spins feature will include a 1.5X Multiplier.

Level 2 = Awarded after landing 145 Scatter Symbols. The Free Spins feature will include a 2X Multiplier.

Level 3= Awarded after landing 270 Scatter Symbols. The Free Spins feature will include a 2.5X Multiplier.

Level 4 = Awarded after landing 405 Scatter Symbols. The Free Spins feature will include a 3X Multiplier.

Level 5 = Awarded after landing 555 Scatter Symbols. The Free Spins feature will include a 5X Multiplier.

Free Spins

By landing 3 Scatter Symbols, you will be awarded the Free Spins feature with 10 spins. Unless upgraded via the Feature Upgrade Trial, the Free Spins feature will be played with a 1X Multiplier. Before starting the bonus game, you will need to do a spin on the Free Spins Wheel, awarding 1 of 3 Free Spins features, and they are as follows:

Extra Wilds = Includes an Extra Wild Feature Tab above every reel, which will award and add 2-10 Wild Symbols on random positions whenever triggered. A maximum of 15 Wild Symbols can be awarded per spin.

Wild Multipliers = Includes a Wild Multipliers Feature Tab above every reel, awarding a 2X-10X Wild Multiplier on the reel below a triggered Feature Tab.

Walking Wilds = Includes a Walking Wilds Feature Tab above every reel. Awards 1, 2, or 3 Walking Wilds on the reel below the triggered feature tab. Walking Wilds will move 1 reel to the left per spin, until they’ve left the playing grid.

Final Thoughts on Firework Fusion

The Fusion series from Slingshot Studios isn’t an awful one, just an overcomplicated one that doesn’t do much to differentiate itself from the other releases. While the themes are always different, the features aren’t, and it’s made even harder by the complexity of the games, as it’s more difficult to spot subtle changes between releases, especially while playing. Visually, Firework Fusion is on the lower end of the interesting ones in the series, and the theme feels quite random. The others had more standard slot themes to base themselves on, whereas here we’re just looking at a beach with some fireworks. But let’s not dig ourselves into only discussing visuals and themes, albeit they leave us quite disappointed, and instead talk about gameplay.

The Fusion series is all about its features, and maybe more specifically, its Feature Tabs, which are the bonuses that actually lead to wins, since the paytable is quite weak. The Feature Tabs work just as normal, and are random bonuses that will usually lead to a payout or two, depending on the bonus, but get a bit more interesting the more upgraded they are. We also have two randomly triggered bonuses, with the most boring being the typical Jackpot Wheel that is played like any other Prize Wheel, and the Hot Mode, which we didn’t really put much thought into, but was a nice bump in Feature Tabs. The Free Spins are the last proper feature, and are probably the most fun we had in the game, but that doesn’t say much as it still feels quite one-dimensional, only now with 1 type of Wild Bonus on every single Feature Tab. All in all, Firework Fusion plays just like its predecessors and feels too packed with features to seem any different, but it can lead to very volatile spins and wins for the occasional hype moments.

Firework Fusion is the latest in the Fusion series, blending Feature Tabs, Jackpot Wheels, and progressive Multipliers in Free Spin bonuses for a chaotic mess.
