Introduction to Emberfall 40K

Emberfall 40K is a casino slot from Slotmill, taking you back to a ravaged wasteland of fire and volatile features. Following the trend of Ragnarok 40K, Emberfall 40K is another juiced-up version of its prequel, Emberfall, just as Ragnarok was to the first 40K game. But what is a 40K game? Well, Slotmill dropped Ragnarok 40K a bit over a year after its original, which came with bigger Multipliers and a hefty max win of 40,000X the bet. Hearing that, then it shouldn’t be a surprise to any of us that Emberfall 40K is basically the same, being released nearly a year later with better hits and bigger wins, and of course also sitting at a new max win of 40,000X the bet. Outside of the payouts, there isn’t really much difference between the two versions, except for a new Super Mode bonus that randomly triggers during the Super Free Spins and a few changes to the various Feature Buy options. But Slotmill has still delivered on a highly volatile experience with smoother graphics, non-stop Avalanche hits, and of course, bigger wins.

If you’re a fan of the original Emberfall or just love the volatile big wins found in the 40K games, then be sure to check out the Emberfall 40K demo for a few fiery spins.

Theme, Gameplay & Payouts

Emberfall 40K is a video slot from Slotmill with 6 reels, 6 rows, and uses Scatter Pay mechanics, needing 8 or more of the same symbols to form a winning combination. You can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.2 and a Max.bet of 50. Emberfall 40K comes with an average RTP of 96.06%, but take note that there is one more version with a lower RTP at 94.26%. The game is also played with a high volatility rate, making big wins not happen as often, but when they do, they have a chance of being extreme, and maybe even hit the max win of 40,000X the bet.

The game is set in the same fiery land as the original, where lava and magma have taken over. An active volcano smokes in the background as steam rises from underneath the Earth’s crust, and it is up to our hero to stop our world from falling into chaos. You can play the game on most notepads, desktops, and mobiles.

The lower-paying symbols are the various gems, ranging from the blue gem, green gem, red gem, and pink gem. Creating a win with 16 of the same symbols will pay out 3X to 3.5X the bet. The higher-paying symbols are a helmet, a shield, an axe, a sword, and the hero. Landing a win with 16 of the same symbols pays out 5.5X to 10X the bet. The only other Symbols are the Scatter and Super Scatter Symbols, but you can learn more about those in the Feature section.

Free Spins

Avalanche

All Symbols which are part of a win explode and leave space for new symbols to fall in from above, which will continue until no more winning combinations are made, which then ends the current spin.

Progressive Win Multiplier

Each Avalanche win doubles the Win Multiplier, which resets at the beginning of each new game round. The Win Multiplier is capped at 262,144X.

Multiplier Boost

Randomly at the start of any spin, the Progressive Win Multiplier can increase with a random number of steps.

Giant Symbols

Either at the beginning of a new spin, or when no more wins are made, Giant Symbols may randomly appear in the form of 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 Giant Symbols. The 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4 Symbols count as 4, 9, and 16 of the same symbol type, respectively.

Randomly during the bonus game, you may also trigger the new Super Mode, which, when activated, will guarantee a 3x3, 4x4, or multiple 2x2 Giant Symbols.

Final Thoughts on Emberfall 40K

When Emberfall was released in late 2024, we thought it was a great, action-packed, and volatile-fueled slot game. It had all the right features to make for a fun slot experience, and we had a great time spinning away, forming chain Avalanche wins and hitting Giant Symbols for stacked Multiplier wins. So, what is really new with Emberfall 40K then? Well, not much, as we mostly got new stats, payouts, and changes to the Feature Buy to align more with the even more volatile nature of the 40K title. Just like with its predecessors Ragnarok and Ragnarok 40K, games that are great in their own right, the move up to the sequel felt almost a bit lazy, as there isn’t much difference between the two games, and some players might even question themselves why they’re playing the standard version and not the 40K version. We feel like for the 40K games to be real sequels, there have to be more changes, and we should probably just deem these titles as spiritual variations of their original games. But let us move over to the gameplay and have a quick look through the features, especially if you’re new to the series.

Starting with the stats, we have a very average RTP of 96.06%, which is then coupled with a massive max win of 40,000X the bet. The original Emberfall was already rocking a pretty strong max win of 15,000X the bet, but now with the new Super Mode, higher Multiplier limit, and Feature Buy options, it has more than doubled. The gameplay, however, is the same, which is all centered around Avalanches and building up your Global Win Multiplier with the help of Multiplier Boosts, Giant Symbols, or either of the Free Spin bonus games. This leads to thrilling spins, with the perfect dramatic backdrop and soundtrack, however, it is also exactly the same as in the prequel. So while we don’t want to hate on Slotmill, as we really enjoy Emberfall, this 40K sequel just sadly falls flat, as there is very little change, and the marketing for it is mostly centered around the new max win. But if that is enough to keep your thrills going, you’re something of a max win hunter, or you just want more of Emberfall, then we promise you that this game can deliver action on each spin, and we highly recommend checking out the demo.

Emberfall 40K is a slot with new pumped-up stats, while keeping the same gameplay loop of Avalanches, Stacking Global Win Multipliers, Giant Symbols, and Free Spins.
