When we said Just Slots decided to play it safe with Book of Abyss, we really meant it, as many of the game's features, and the overall gameplay loop, are very akin to what we’ve seen nearly a decade ago, with very few changes. However, that is kinda the deal with this genre, as many games that follow the trend don’t really try to stand out and instead lead into what has worked before. On the other hand, thematically, it at least moves away from the typical Egyptian theme that comes with the genre, and it goes well in hand as a seasonal Halloween release, which many studios go out of their way to release. But even with that said, the game isn’t exactly that flashy or great looking, having a rather smooth and boring visual style that lacks depth.
