Final Thoughts on Beanstalk Magic Treasures
We see Fairy tale-inspired and themed slot releases just about all the time, and while Jack and the Beanstalk might be a bit of a lesser-known story, there’s no shortage, as seen with releases like Beanstalk Bonanza, Jack and the Beanstalk Remastered, and more. In terms of bean-themed releases, Evoplay delivers on a bit more of a magical and mysterious setting high in the clouds, and we think it works pretty well, making it stand out a bit from the more common farmer-esque settings. We enjoy its whimsy and mystical setting, but are unsure if it’s really enough to carry the game.
To answer that question, we need to discuss the gameplay. While Beanstalk Magic Treasures isn’t an awful game, it does lack in some areas. Starting with the base game, we don’t really have any type of feature to spice up the spins, outside of Wilds, which we’re so used to that we barely register them nowadays. To counterbalance this, you would expect the bonus games to have some engaging mechanics, but the Free Spins feature is as basic as it comes, at best removing lower-paying symbols. The Grand Reel Bonus Game may look enticing, especially for those high-risk, high-reward players, but the matter of the fact that you need to hit a full playing grid to trigger the Grand Reel makes it feel a bit too rare to feel like an interesting mechanic. This boils down to most spins feeling the same, with very few exciting moments, making the game feel rather disappointing and lacking during longer game sessions.
