After a long wait, Microgaming finally released Avalon 2. Clearly a sequel to the popular Avalon, it is based on King Arthur and the legend of the Knights of the Round Table. This slot is a highly polished one and starts off with a rather exciting movie introduction placing the player well and truly into the era and featuring some realistic sound effects. Avalon 2 is a five-reel slot with a huge 243 pay lines with which to secure winnings.

The design is a simple one, set on a grassy field with what appears to be Excalibur bordering the edges. Low-value symbols are easily identified by the standard playing card symbols. The higher values are icons that relate directly to the theme, and feature the Black knight, Morgana, Guinevere, Merlin and of course Arthur. The wild is represented by the Avalon 2 logo and the Lady of the Lake; however, she only appears on the central reel and becomes an expanding wild. Avalon 2 Bonus features

Avalon 2 boasts a number of excellent bonuses, the first of which is the Grail Quest feature. This is the main part of this game and is triggered when three or more of the Holy Grail bonus symbols land on the reels. There is then a range of different games that the player must progress through in order to reach the end goal. Each time the bonus feature is activated, the next game will be played.

First, there is the Lake of Legend, which offers ten dice rolls to try to reforge Excalibur. Each roll wins cash prizes. Misty Vale comes next and offers fifteen free spins with a wild of the player’s choice.
